Yes, since 2013. He's maintained a healthier weight since he had a bad virus during S6 filming. He's deliberately kept it off now and is very fit.

MClunesfan123 Didn’t now about the virus...my local public tv is just now (third week April 2019) showing S5! I saw him, in an interview, saying he’d lost approximately three stones (50 pounds). He said his knees were hurting. I can definitely tell, as the series moves along. Even his lips are smaller!🤪 I VERY much enjoy Doc Martin, and watch it twice a week❣️ Who knew a totally authentic and loveable person existed underneath an unlikeable curmudgeon?
