Very atonal, eerie, surreal, just sublime. What an experience it would have been to be there.!!

@jhomolos There is no '1 clarinet is best', even in the same model they can differ wildly, due to different wood, retrieved at different times, different makers, etc. I personally can't get a better sound out of a tosca than I can out of my festival, but I do find it sad when people say 'oh I got a festival!' as if that instantly makes them good, same with any of the BC's. That being said, Martin Frost could play a carrot and still sound better than most of us!

In my view Martin Frost is probably one of the most technically gifted clarinetists the world has ever seen. I have no idea how he articulates so rapidly (double tonguing maybe?). So far as tone is concerned that is a matter of preference and is very subjective to the listener. I personally prefer the indefinable quality of those such as Jack Brymer, Paul Meyer and Karl Leister. Emma Johnson has a very unique style, a bit like Marmite 'love it or hate it'. I quite like it.

@danmcglaun1 Kell - Ok, I can maybe understand, but Emma Johnson? Seriously?... You know, it IS possible to be musically imaginative AND have a great technique.

@danmcglaun1 Just tell me why? and what do you want from someone playing an instrument? and what are your criteria? I think that we 've all forgotten that we 're talking about music here! and why should we always compare two different interpretentions of one piece or two different soloist! Each of them is who he is we dont have to compare whether one is good or better! I believe this IS wrong I believe it is not in favor for our music,I believe this attitude has caused a great harm in our music.

@memphis148 Hey. None of that. Clarinet players are way too complex and diverse to be set to the low of petty comparisons.
