Martin HD-28 LSV vs D-28 1937 Authentic

Customer's LSV in for a new nut, neck reset, back brace shave, popsicle out, Antique Acoustics pins. Compared with shop's '37 A.

The graph with neck measurements was GENIUS. The slopes of the lines says so much about the neck feel. Love your vids!

They are both great guitars in their own right!!!!!!! I personally like the LSV a little better, but I've usually had a little trouble with the necks on the LSVs. They usually feel a bit bulky to me & they tend to get worse as you get closer to the heel of the neck. Just my opinion. Great video Bryan!!!!!!!

Hard to describe sound in words, but to me the LSV sounded "darker" than the Authentic. I liked it! Great playing as always!

I have a custom 2000 LSV. my build sheet list the top as Sitka. Interested in knowing if my year may be a "Smokies" JA spruce top and any significant difference that provides. Yes, that neck, (listed as a Mod. V neck on build sheet) took me a long time to adjust my playing to it, but Im really ok with it now. I love the rich bass and the "singing tone" of this guitar while flat picking. What mods/ work would benefit a effertless as can be playability for the LSV? Now I want a D16 too. Looking at the 1937 D16A cause like the LSV, I like 1 3/4" nut. How will a 37 D16A neck be if Im used to the LSV neck now. That particular D16 is hard to find one to actually hold and play. Terrific playing and expertise commits. Thank you for those.

Do either of them have an adjustable truss rod? The 1937 Authentic does not have one listed. Good comparison.

LSV has an adjustable rod. A has a T-bar, non-adjustable. That's part of the "authentic" business. Personally, I have 10 acoustic guitars and only 1 of them has an adjustable rod.
