Martin Lewis Gives Important Advice On Pensions Credits As Those Eligible are 'Missing Out' | GMB

Pension credit is a benefit which is worth £1,900 on average (MSE says £3,300 average) and the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) minister Guy Opperman MP has indicated that 770,000 eligible pensioners have failed to make claims. Martin explains that Pension Credits are also a gateway to other benefits such as free TV Licences and a reduction in council tax. The other key fact is that it's not automatic and people must claim.

I was told about this by my friend, I saw I won't get it but I applied. It took about 7 days and was backdated. You must ring them. !

I called them was told no but I read that if you get attendance allowance you may get guarantee pension credit ?

I’ve given up now. I’ve cancelled my claim every time I ring up it resets to somebody getting back to me within 10 days 10 days pass you ring them up and it starts again. They have no intention of doing anything.

My brother in law has not worked all his life and claimed full benefits before retiring and he gets pension credit ,what mugs it makes of working couples who get nothing,it makes mugs of all those who worked all there life

i’ve been waiting ages for an answer after putting my application in two months before my birthday which was the 11th of March. I’ve heard nothing so I’m going to give up on that and find a job. All I get is will be in touch within 10 days, I’ll be time I get in touch those 10 days starts again, I wish they just say we’re doing our best to give you nothing so I know where I stand

I applied 2 months ago. According to the calculator I should be entitled but they are not getting moving. They sent a letter to my old address, I was asked how many bedrooms I have, told I couldn't move house just for a better view from my window. I moved into a 2 bed over 60s flat and the service charges take me under £200pw. How long should it take?

You have to have less than £6000 savings and nothing in bank i applied but said i have too much money told them money was anew roof it was leaking then some houdehold repairs i am house owner you to save for repairs all done now but have no money

If you are reading this and ya mum or dad has no ability to claim themselves then call them and demand they send out someone to evaluate mum or dad so you can become appointee. As an appointee you can do all the hard work poor mum or dad can not.
