Born in Dec. 1899, Rev. King, Sr. was 79 years of age here. He outlived his famous son, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (assassinated in 1968), his younger son Rev. A.D. King (heart attack in swimming pool, 1969), and the heartbreaking killing of his wife and Ebenezer's First Lady, Mrs. Alberta King, in a tragic 1974 church shooting carried out by a lone madman. Mrs. King's death occurred just about 5 years prior to this taping. You can still sense the burden and grief he carried for his losses. Yet, he would courageously carry on in faith and dignity for another 6 years past this recording until he passed away in 1984, at age 84. He was a giant in the faith.

ALLEGED heart attack....his body was found in his underwear with bruises all over his neck and head and apparently no water in his lungs according to his son and wife and first responders. He was known to be a great swimmer.

Wow, this is our heritage , great cloud of witnesses we have in our community and resilient and wise people in spite of our disadvantages in this country, a country that we assisted in building in every area of civilization without being compensated or welcomed to partake in the fruits of our labor in a equal and just way.
