For the people who doesn't know this. This show is an adoptation of the Martin Mystery comic. It's one of the most popular Italian comics, but this show and the comic are very different. While this show is aimed at children the comic was for adults. In it Marin and Diana are adults, Martin is in his late 40 and Diana is about 17 years younger than him. Java is a neanderthal discovered by Martin on one of his adventures. Martin is a criticly acclamed author, with several doctor titles, and an own TV show. For the sake of science he wants to discover the true history of the human race that various organisations (like the Man in Black) try to keep preventing from discovering. On his adventures he investigates ancial arheological sites, cities, tombs, has alien encounters, and all other sorts of mysteries. The comic includs scenes of nudity, sex, and violence. The comic is still on going and the publisher "Dark Horse" has published some chapters of the comic on english. I personaly find the comic amazing, and way better than the watered down TV show, but again the TV show was aimed for children, so if you want to taste the real Martin Mystery I suggest you try out the comic ;)

You missed out on even more if you go back farther, when I was a kid(late 90's early 2000s) all three networks were competing with one another to produce the best cartoons and we ended up taking it for granted. There were so many great cartoons that few ended up being under appreciated(mostly the Disney ones like Pepper Ann, Teacher's Pet, and Lloyd in Space). Even better was that Kids WB and Fox Kids had Saturday morning lineups that made choosing which show to watch a difficult choice. A few shows you should look into if you looking for great shows are Invader Zim, As Told By Ginger, Pelswick(very underrated), Rocket Power, Kablam, B.U.M.(it wasn't really a great show but it was so stupid it had to be watched), Angry Beavers, and Mucha Lucha. Also try Static Shock if you're looking for super heroes and Shaman King for anime
