That's such a beautiful goal. Starting with that beautiful one-touch by Drouin to MacKinnon, who then processed to pull off an incredible spin-o-rama pass while falling down. Drouin made a great job to protect that puck from being intercepted by the Rangers' player, while letting the puck to go right to Necas, who then makes a nice pass to Makar coming late to finish with a SNIPE.

Necas will suddenly look like a different player, offensively....playing with Mackinnon and Makar. So many are clueless to the effect of playing with players who are top notch. My bet is that Rantanen will take a step in the opposite direction....playing with the Canes. Just look at Hyman....who has made a career of playing with top players. He benefits a huge amount from that, even though he is far from being a top player in the league. He's just a good hustler with an ok shot.

Have a look at how many points rantanen has had with mack out of the lineup. lol and now combine that with the fact aho who he already has chemistry with and will gain chemistry with at 4 nations…. Necas is a great, he’s not rantanen and won’t be him.

@@reign2204 yep he is better he played with Kotkaniemi and Robinson, Ranta played with Makar and MacKinnon. Necas looked amazing on Avs top line and it is still only 2nd game, they will be unstoppable, its like having 2 MacKinnons on top line now, two very simmilar players.

Here's the facts..Necas is a great player and one of the fastest skaters in the game and his open ice ability is scary but problem is he is soft on the puck and panicks when the D collapses on him and he make a lot of poor choices with the puck. Transition and rush plays are his bread and butter however come playoff time we all know all the open ice run and gun gets thrown out the window and it becomes a puck possession game which is more Carolina's style. He will play great in Colorado and will be a great asset to the team. I would to have loved to have kept Necas but he just can't play Rod's style of forechecking and puck possession but hopefully it works out for both teams

You think Carolina was bad with that trade? You are talking like Canes got a bag of pucks in return??🤣 They got exactly what they needed, a huge star who doesnt choke in the playoffs. Just because Necas made couple of assists with his new team doesnt mean that Avs won the trade easily. Yeah, Rantanen is more expensive but he is also a better player. 4th in points in last 5 seasons, and 8th in points per game in playoffs among all players in NHL history. He deserves his bag. No doubt. But for sure it will be a good deal for the Avs if they now sign some depth-pieces too. They definitely need that. Its just total delusion how bad people are suddenly taking down everything what Mikko did with the Avs. Lets talk when Necas comes even near to Rantanen's accomplishments.
