You forgot to say that the OM-28 Modern Deluxe also has torrefied Adirondack scalloped braces, a slightly skewed neck profile and they use Protein Fish Glue in its body construction. I own the Modern Deluxe 000-28MD and love it as well.

Flaw in this comparison is that the two guitars are played by different individuals, which can make a huge difference in the sound.

The om28-modern sounds very articulate, more so than the om28 standard and also louder. I could live with either one but prefer the modern. The modern also looks very stunning in person should you see one in a shop or store.

Would love to see you guys compare a high end Taylor grand concert model with other small body equivalents from Martin, etc....

The Taylor even high end is Pale in comparison to what a high end Martin puts out. If I see what's being sold it's more Taylors than Martin. I have a Baby BT1 that can't compare to a LX1 in solid build, I have to play hard to keep up,?

The Modern is superb for the upgrades which lean more to the custom features without the custom price. Really depends on the individual preference, imho the MD is a cut above.

I actually prefer the reimagined, though aesthetically I really like what they did with the deluxe. The reimagined has a warmer, rounder, woodier tone imo. The modern deluxe is brighter, a litte louder maybe, clearer. Not sure how much the adirondack spruce top and carbon bridge plays into it. Would be interesting to swap out the bridge pins on the modern deluxe and see how much difference that makes. In my experience, switching to ebony bridge pins gave my guitar a darker, deeper tone Edit: Sorry, I was mistaken, it's a VTS Sitka top, Adi braces with GE scalloping. Still a bit brighter, crisper tone vs the standard. Both are great.

I think you're right here Alex, swapping out the bridge pins would be interesting! I think they make much a difference, definitely with that Adi top. - Maarten

@@thefellowshipofacoustics Actually.....I'm mistaken, it's a Sitka top, but with VTS treatment. But VTS tops always sound closer to adirondack to my ear, a little crisper.

It actually pisses me off how much better the standard sounds in every video I watch because I would prefer to have the better wood grade in the modern, the mahogany neck, and better case of the modern. It must be the carbon fiber and metal pins that make it so sterile sounding.
