I am more of a mahogany guy when it comes to Martins. Just a personal preference. Both look awesome with a visual preference toward the SC-28. Despite that, I'm more intrigued by the SC-18 because of my tone wood bias.

I've been waiting for the made-in-Nazareth solid bodies since the SC-13E first dropped. I have the SC-28E on preorder from Sweetwater already, and can't wait to get it in my hot little hands. Thanks for the first demo video I've seen on the new SC-18E and SC-28E versions!

Great demo, thanks Don. Martin has acquired focus lock on my bank account. My J 45 plans are now less sure.

Is the only difference between the SC-18E and the SC-28E the body and sides wood?
@sweetwater8 ай бұрын
Hey, Yelliwj! Thanks for reaching out. The difference between the two are the back/side tonewood like you mentioned, but also the binding and the rosette. The binding is just an aesthetic difference, but the price difference mostly comes from the extra costs involved with sourcing rosewood compared to mahogany. I hope this helps! Any idea when these actually release?

They've been available for pre-order for a week or so, and my Sweetwater rep says they'll have some in hand by the 3rd or 4th week of February. I imagine they're debuting at NAMM (this weekend) and are shipping to dealers starting next week? Just a guess, of course. Depends on how efficient' Martin's distribution chain is, I suppose.
