Love LOVE this! 💗 Beauty is generative... Etymology of beauty as goodness and courtesy... Wonderful. Beautifully said. And a genuine Christian vision. I'm freshly inspired by and for the beauty here.

I like to think about Shaw's words regarding experiencing beauty and how it prepares us for eternity. There's so much mystery and depth in that and has me wondering about our encounters with beauty also being a remembering. We are prepared by being reminded, or some such. In the story I was at London Bridge waiting for something good to happen -- which makes me laugh because it sounds kinda sad but I'm just still in that seeking space. I may have even heard the man's dream and it's meaning hasn't yet occurred to me. I may even be a little spooked to know. As much as I long I am also quite bull headed/dense, or I am too distracted by dancing bears. Anyway! This was a delight. Thank you.

Give what you need to receive… that’s good advice. But I would add, be discerning when you choose recipients, so that your gifts bear fruits in their souls. Don’t waste your gifts by discriminate dissemination.

Dr. Shaw mentioned a new book that he has "completed" I believe he said. Does anyone know what book he is referring to? Or whether or not this book has been published yet? Thank you.

Trailing Beauty or trailing the Beast? Questing Beast. "The strange creature has the head of a snake, the body of a leopard, the haunches of a lion, and the feet of a hart." He said goat. "Merlin reveals that the Questing Beast had been born of a human woman, a princess who lusted after her own brother. She slept with a devil who had promised to make the boy love her, but the devil manipulated her into accusing her brother of rape. Their father had the brother torn apart by dogs as punishment. Before he died, he prophesied that his sister would give birth to an abomination that would make the same sounds as the pack of dogs that were about to kill him." - wikipedia

The earlier Perlesvaus, however, offers an entirely different depiction of the Questing Beast. There it is described as pure white, smaller than a fox, and beautiful to look at. The noise from its belly is the sound of its offspring who tear the creature apart from the inside; the author takes the Questing Beast as a symbol of Christ, destroyed by the followers of the Old Law, the Twelve Tribes of Israel. Gerbert de Montreuil provides a similar vision of the Beast in his Continuation of Perceval, the Story of the Grail, though he says that it is "wondrously large" and interprets the noise and subsequent gruesome death by its own offspring as a symbol of impious churchgoers who disturb the sanctity of Mass by talking. - wikipedia

Why do Europeans care about the US president so much?

From my experience, because the US has had an outsized influence on the rest of the global economy. So whether other countries like it or not, they are inextricably tied the what is going on in America. I have had extensive experience internationally, and am always amazed at how well-read people in other countries are around US history and politics compared to my own knowledge of the inner workings of their culture, history and politics. Hope this helps.

Our Constitution is unique in that the individual has more value than the State. It protects free speech, the ability to worship as we please and allows us to be armed. The U. S. Is an experiment in freedom. I believe that is why other countries watch and why those valueing freedom risk their lives to come here and become citizens. As far as why be concerned with the US president, two assassination attempts occurred, a new phenomenon called lawfare (crippling a political opponent with legal costs, fines, with goal of incarceration) occurred. The unending vilification highlight the corruption of US legacy and social media.

Sadly, the repeating of an obvious misreporting and misrepresentation of a gesture caught by the lowest forms of media, just sunk this broadcast to the same low level, for me. Try verifying the basis of your poor joke next time, Mr Shaw.
