This is what happened (my theory) and it's all because of Pramac. Ducati wanted to grant Jorge's wish to come to factory. They hope Marc goes to Pramac so they can keep him because he gets his factory spec bike. Marc would rather stay at Gresini than go to Pramac. They could give Gresini a factory spec bike. However they are stuck because Pramac still has rights to the factory spec bikes and Pramac has not decided to keep those or go to Yamaha. Ducati has been trying to wait as long as possible but can't take away the bikes from Pramac if they haven't made a declaration. And Martin can't wait any longer. Hence he made a move. And the rest follows.

Regardless of anything else, this will shape up the rest of this season and next year to be more exciting. IF MM is going to be PB's teammate next year, and depending on how Ducati feels about JM jumping off, more drama for this year and maybe more support for MM from Ducati this year, if possible. One thing would be for sure, IF MM is the new Ducati Team member (next year but if announced soon), Ducati will want to see PB and MM at the top THIS year. Should all be fun to watch. Happy for Aprilia coz MV is not a fighter despite being given so many chances to shine coz he is not consistent. Aprilia is top three when clocking the best time during practices, Qs as the bike is already running when the clock starts ticking but during the race start launch, Aprilia is the worst despite being in the front row or pole

Looking at what Acosta already can do on the Gas Gas KTM, makes you realize how a really fast rider like Martin, could really make the difference at Aprilia, providing the missing component in their challenge to Ducati. Maverick has sort of proved that for them, on the occasions he can pull it together, but he's inconsistent and really doesn't go well if the bike isn't working perfectly at a particular track.

It's clear to see what happened. After the race yesterday, they had a big meeting they decided on Marquez over Martin and Martin blew his top and signed a deal with another team only a couple hours later. Though he did pick a good Bike, (So weird to say that about Aprilla) They were the worst Bike for 15 years and now 2nd right with KTM just a bit behind them. I watched Jorge Martin in Moto3 and said this kid is going to be really good. So good luck to him!

Surprise but fair play to him. I think it will show his quality. I will be despised for saying this, but I feel that changing bikes and winning is the mark of a true champion. Valentino and Marc were and are showing what great riders they are, even if Marc hasn't won yet, it's only a matter of time. After Aleix retiring and Maverick unsure of his next move, Aprillia fans needed some good news and they certainly got that!.

Not in Marcs case, he failed to develop his own bike at honda after Dani left, and ran away to the #1 bike that someone else developed for him after leaving honda in a steaming pile following 2 years of failure as the lead development rider. Champions left for another bike for a challenge, marc left because he couldn't win.

​@@samblack5313i don't think it was marq problem 😂 honda was fall short on competition even this season, mark was just a rider and the team should provided what rider wants but they failed so hard but they tried and for someone who want to compete the championship it was only way to leave honda...not particularly mm fans but as motogp fans still think mm was very talented, ruthless and tough ride in the circuit

Hum interesting? You say that Marc went downhill after Dani left. Well, he went on to win the 2019 title race with 4, yes, 4 rounds to spare and after falling in the season opener 2020 at Jerez, came from last to second and would have taken 1st, in my opinion, before loosing the front due to tyre wear and being crocked for a season and a half, when no development or improvements were made to the Honda. By the time he got back on it, Ducati and the other manufacturers had significantly changed and raised their game, leaving Honda in their wake. And is this the same Marc that was team mate to Dani, who by the way never won the title, and in his very first season actually won the title becoming the youngest ever champion, successfully defending it the next year? As I say, interesting.

No começo achava que o Enea iria para a Aprilia, o Jorge para a Ducati e o Marc para a Pramac. Depois da negativa do Marc, achei que ele iria para a KTM devido à Red Bull. Jamais imaginei o Jorge na Aprilia!
