I am a big fan of the Martin Vintage series and this Martin HD-28v is woken up and played into. I suspect the Hsienmo will sound increasingly better over time (I know mine do). What is remarkable that this relatively new Hsienmo is close to the older Martin of an excellent model.

Thanks Jarvis I also appreciate your opening discussion about the importance of getting a set-up by a professional luthier to bring out each guitar’s best. I always calculate this cost as part of a purchase and also a maintenance cost every several years keep a guitar at its best. With that said guitars I get from Hsienmo are the best set up new guitars out of the box.
@TheGuitarSpaSingapore2 күн бұрын
@@BartonEvans-y8e the out of the box setup of HsienMo was way better than many of the brand guitars . reason being is the top structural and bracing pairing is good and the neck attachment is robust with the carbon fibre in the neck to stiffen it .. small details added up does make a big difference

Shawn Brock is a brand new Hsienmo dealer here in the states. His youtube channel is his name. Shawn is a very accomplished bluegrass & folk guitarist, VERY well admired & respected in the industry. He is also a producer, author, and writer. Shawn is BLIND. You know how blind people almost always have a finer sense of hearing. Go see Shawn's recent videos featuring Hsienmo acoustic's. ( Shawn makes videos playing the very best & most expensive acoustic's in the world by the way, you'll LOVE the man and his channel. ) Shawn spoke with Hsienmo founder Li Chen about shipping him a couple. Shawn was SO blown away by the 1st Hsienmo, he thought "this could be a fluke as an exceptional guitar among other Hsienmo's". Then he played another, and yet a few more. ALL of them blow him away, as they do anyone who hears them. He currently has several for sale ( if they haven't sold yet. ) I personally own 4 Hsienmo acoustic's, all bought factory-direct from their custom shop. I loved the 1st one so much, I bought 3 more, all within an 8 month period. Hsienmo only builds 30 to 50 acoustic's per month, and usually 400 or less PER YEAR. Li Chen told me that personally via emails. There's only 1 other Hsienmo dealer in the states: Wolfe Guitars of south Florida. I can't speak for Wolfe Guitars, but I know for a fact Shawn offers a no-questions asked 100% return guarantee.......I think he gives you 10 days AFTER you receive the guitar. You need only pay the return shipping, providing the guitar is still in 100% new condition.......and he pays you a full refund. Hsienmo's prices are incredibly low for the sheer build quality, attention to fine detail, and high quality tone woods & tuners used. Hsienmo doesn't even offer "a cheap budget guitar". Yet ALL of their acoustic's are only a fraction of the price vs American, Canadian, and European builders. But my advice is to act as soon as possible, because word is starting to spread about this amazing little company.........and higher demand means longer waits, higher prices, and possible "slips in quality". I can honestly say ALL FOUR of my Hsienmo custom shop acoustic's ( various models) are the best I've ever owned, and I've owned over a dozen fine acoustics over the decades, and I'm very picky about acoustics. Highly recommended. Hope this info is helpful & wishing you all the best.

Both guitars sound great... but one delivers better gains and returns because of its rich history regarding Dreadnought guitars, and so C F 26:34 26:34 Martin coined the name and brand, while others like Hsienmo are wanting to be like CFM.... nothing more and nothing less! Buy what can afford you and get both guitars and enjoy playing them... thanks for the Video!

Martin needs a truss adjusment. Just set your guitars up yourself. Just be really careful. Start with 1 or 2 E string thicknesses off the bridge. If you cant pull it off then oay th 200. Thats how you learn. You'll always hear your out of wack in the B string first.

It's too late now, but the BEST way to do acoustic guitar shoot-outs is to do the way world renowned JP Cormier does it: BLIND TESTS. Don't show the guitars as their being played, then make a follow up video revealing what the viewers picked in the comments from the shoot-out video. WHY do this? Because I'm willing to bet the farm that over 90% of those who claimed "the Martin sounds better" are owners of Martin guitars. I'm also willing to bet the farm that had this been a blind test, over 60% ( if not more ) would've guessed the Hsienmo to be "the better sounding Martin". I know, because these are the "shocking results" JP Comier gets every time he's featured blind shoot-out testing: pitting a high-end Martin against something made in the far east. One should always put new strings of the same brand & gauge on both guitars before doing head to head testing as well. I'm a lifelong accomplished guitarist ( electric and acoustic ), singer, blues harp performer, now 63 yrs old. Over the decades, I've owned a little over a dozen fine acoustics, ranging from Martin, Taylor, Yamaha, and the Japanese Takamine's. This is not counting the cheap crappy guitars I owned in the beginning. I can honestly say that I love ALL FOUR of my custom shop Hsienmo acoustic's more than any of em. .........and for a fraction of the price. I'm an American. I don't care "where a guitar is made"........so long as it out-shines the other options.
