Awesome video I’ve been shed hunting hard for 3 years now and found my first fresh elk set 6x6 250 class bull in the middle of deer country. Your videos gave me motivation to push harder and farther than I ever have before. Logged several 20+ km days sometimes waking up at 4 am to go out before work and it paid off this year: finished the year with 117 sheds (mostly mule deer). Thanks for creating amazing content to the outdoors community.

All that blood... do you think the bull bled extra on the shed because it was dangling near his head after he shed due to the rope holding it for a while. Very cool, rare and exciting you have so much history on these bulls. Great job and good luck on your new adventures.
@Martin_Chag3 жыл бұрын
Possibly! And he has the injured ear on that side
@gregs91873 жыл бұрын
This is what I was thinking. Also could be why the rope was only on the other side. 1st shed dropped and dangled next to his head until he shook it free.

Sweet videos Martin! I love how much effort and commitment you put into the animals! I was wondering if you have any tips on how to gather information about new hunting spots? Does talking to biologists and game wardens work? Or do you just do some e-scouting and then go exploring in those areas till you find the elk? I would love some tips since I am looking for new spots.

Unfortunately, this is why I no longer "shed hunt"... It used to be fun to go out in spring on a hike and happen upon an antler or two. But with guys that are out 7 days a week, watching animals until the moment they drop and then "easing in" to pick the sheds up with fresh blood... There's no chance for a weekend warrior to find anything anymore. I have no hard feelings, its just something that will never be the same. Such is life...
