We used an Epson 1500 with dye ink for t shirt transfers, A Ricoh (which is now the Virtuoso SG400) for sublimation. If I was buying a new t shirt printer now, I'd go for one of the Epson Eco Tank printers. The HP Laser I have now is what I use for printing on vinyls, for stickers.

Really need help, I have bought a used heat press for £100, I have both cold print clothing vinyl and hot print, sometimes the vinyl wants to stick and sometimes it doesn’t! Been trying for over a month now! I’m doing it hotter now so 200 degrees, surely it’s got to be my heat press? It’s like sometimes the stuff sticks perfectly, other times it won’t and I’ve then wasted good T-shirt’s! Would really appreciate your reply as I’m struggling!
@reviewthat4 жыл бұрын
The heat press is probably a cheap one bud. You'll need a quality press to stop this happening bud.

Seems a shame that you've stopped doing your tee shirts after being so successful. Is this permanent? There's a few other tee shirt regulars on KZbin who've also jacked it in. I was thinking about starting it up as a small part time business having come from a litho printing background printing paper products, but now I'm not so sure. Like litho printing, the tee shirt business seems saturated and there's loads of people doing it, some are charging ridiculously low prices as well. Hope to see you back sometime making tee shirt videos and I wish you all the best for the future.
@reviewthat4 жыл бұрын
I was doing it for 13 years Cailean. I didn't stop because it was saturated, there is plenty of work out there. We had loads of customers and KZbin channel owners is a great way to pick up trade. I stopped to concentrate on my restoration channels.

"Don't fall for the trap and buy a cheap heat press" If you are in the position where you can either buy a cheap heat press and start now or an expensive one in 3 months time, would you still say to wait?
