Cool! I don't know how I ran into this video, but it was interesting. My friend wants to get into this and I wanted to see how it was done. You are definitely right. You do not need a large machine. I like more steps, so I'd rather save money and buy the hat press instead of the larger shirt press - if I was doing just a small logo. I like putting more work into something, so I'd actually prefer the more difficult approach (hat press) .
@reviewthat10 жыл бұрын
Yes, A hat press can be used for smaller transfers or vinyl's for either sleeves or breast logo's. Thanks for watching

Glad it helped. This is why most people who buy cheap heat presses give up because they can't get consistant professional results. A deicent press sorts this out. Regards Martin
@LukeofAllTrades.10 жыл бұрын
This video really helped me out. The heat press I bought was a generic brand from a reputable site, and I wasn't sure of the quality. I got a decent IR thermometer from Amazon, and checked it out. It actually runs 10-15 degrees hotter than the display says, but more than that, it's displaying in Fahrenheit instead of Celsius as the unit implies! I'm glad I verified before I started printing things, this video and that thermometer probably saved me a ton of money in lost transfers and shirts!

Thanks for the video. I have purchased an ebay press for about $200 US dollars. (i'm in usa) I purchased it strictly for my Airbrushing shirts to heat set the shirts. I heat set them 3-4 times, going around the shirt board. It works GREAT for that..... not so much for transfers. I ordered a small batch and used my press and I have YET to have a successful peel out of 8 so far. DO NOT SKIMP On a press if you're doing transfers!!

Hi Martin,i have a question,i recently bought a heat press to get me started,(from a branded shop) and have done a few tester heatups so i can see how it does with even heat..i set it at 175 and once it reached temp, (according to the digital clock) i tested with the gun ,the centre read 197 and most edges read 206.......,now this was heating up with it open , to me this seems a huge differ ...so would this be classed as not calibrated properly and should be replaced?.........thank you ..ps thank you so much to you both for doing these videos....i am inspired greatly...Rara

HI Mike, We don't use sublimation ink on Transfers, we use dye based ink and when the pics have been printed, we contour cut the transfers to the outline of the image so there is no residue. Martin - what type of paper are you using? The last time I bought transfer paper at an office depot I saw a residue stain the shape of the cutout. It looks like the paper you are using only transfer the ink without leaving a stain.
