My local Home Depot had an over abundance of citrus and sold them for 14.95. I bought a Valencia orange, Ruby Rae grapefruit, a lime and a meyer lemon which actually had two trees in one pot which I separated. I got bigger pots and followed your recommendations to the letter, right down to the PH test. I even removed all blumes that popped up. They started at about a foot tall and are now doing fantastic adding lots of growth. Thank You so much for all your info.

I ache every time I look at my Meyers Improved. Through all the mistreatment: slow draining garden soil/compost mix in a small pot, underwatering when I'm busy, being constantly wet otherwise, often stuck with low light in a corner since nobody really appreciates a lemon tree when there's so much tasty fruits in the backyard. It was the forgotten potted citrus lowest on the totem pole that includes 24 "more exotic" citrus. Through it all, this thing survived and actually produced a bounty of good-sized lemons last year after a few years spend languishing under my watch. And to add insult to injury, I never used the lemons--they ended up getting tossed as fertilizer and snail/slug bait because friends bombarded us with lemons and limes off of their trees to rot in our fridge (yeah, nobody really wants too many lemons)....yeah, I know--when life gives you lemons, you're supposed to make something else with them to pretend you weren't thrown a bunch of lemons. But this year, I decided to elevate my Meyers and gave her a sunny location next to the Mandarin oranges in a 15-gallon grow bag in soil amended with peat moss and red mulch and some perlite. She responded extremely well. That's why I think the Meyers is a survivor and workhorse. This year, I'll be doing the lemon-giving.

Shalom Adoni! HalleluYAH! ALL GLORY, PRAISE, HONOUR, AND EXALTATION TO THE MOST HIGH, YAHUAH! This is a highly informative and clarified video. I have learned a great amount of information. Thank you for presenting us with knowledge so that we can further learn to nurture and nourish our own gardens. Even the mental and spiritual one. For my greatest take away from your videos is always spiritual. Just know that you have an attentive ear in me. I can definitely affirm that having a pen/pencil and notepad during your videos is essential and greatly recommended. The videos may not be up forever, especially if the grid goes down or the world shuts off permanently. But written knowledge is always available for use and the more one adheres to the lesson/knowledge the more it becomes inscribed in their mind, soul, and spirit! And this is one take away that is always highlighted for me. To absorb and hearken to the knowledge being presented so that I can apply it to my life. And spiritually that is. Not necessarily fleshly. Thank you, once again. And all thanks and glory to Elohim YAHUAH, for knowledge, wisdom and understanding are with HIM alone and come solely from HIM! May you be blessed and strengthened in the might and power of EL ELYON! HALLELUYAH! Shalawam! Sirach 6:32-37 My son, if thou wilt, thou shalt be taught: and if thou wilt apply thy mind, thou shalt be prudent. If thou love to hear, thou shalt receive understanding: and if thou bow thine ear, thou shalt be wise, Stand in the multitude of the elders; and cleave unto him that is wise. Be willing to hear every godly discourse; and let not the parables of understanding escape thee. And if thou seest a man of understanding, get thee betimes unto him, and let thy foot wear the steps of his door. Let thy mind be upon the ordinances of the Lord and meditate continually in his commandments: he shall establish thine heart, and give thee wisdom at thine owns desire.

Currently we are saving a Meyer lemon tree as a heirloom. It’s special. We air layered it. Should we be taking the yellow leaves off the tree as the roots develop and/or prune it during the rooting process or after we pot it? Maybe the question is what to do with the section we are air layering during rooting and after planting? Great videos

@@elderyehudahwatchmanoftheg8425 Thanks for the response. We air layered a section of a Meyer lemon tree. The tree still has the wraps on the branch as the roots develop. On this particular branch is there anything specific we should be doing with the leaves as the roots develop. We are aware to remove the lemons from the branch. The tree is in excellent shape. Some of the leaves are turning yellow on the branch, similar to the entire tree. Should we remove those leaves? And then after the roots develop and we pot the air layered branch, is there any thing specific we should do to ensure the health of the plant? I just want to say thank you so much for your videos and thanks for your time

I have a Meyers Limon and it's small and lost all of its leaves. So I'm going to try everything thing you said to do in your videos. I also have Is Eureka lemon and it lost all of it's leaves but I done my own thing for it now it getting leaves all over it but it's slow going and I'm picking all of the blooms off of both for the next 2 years probably so I has time to heal
@elderyehudahwatchmanoftheg8425
@elderyehudahwatchmanoftheg8425 2 жыл бұрын
Welcome! Are your eureka lemons in containers? If so to heal it place it in a shady area for a year. Eureka lemons loves drought so do not water it all the time, in fact water every other week. This is force the eureka to not only bloom but grow stronger roots. 1 more secret, please use blood meal in the soil as this will increase nitrogen thus giving your tree a fuller look by promoting leaf growth.

I live in Texas and just brought my Meyer lemon tree indoors. I repotted it and used bark in bottom, peat moss perlite, vermiculite and some compost. Sprinkled some fertilizer on tops d watered. Now all the leaves are falling off. Should I prune all the fruit off? I have a lot of baby green lemons on it. Help please. I don’t want to lose it. I’m trying hard to keep it happy!

From what I just gathered from your post. It would seem you never acclimated the tree to the indoor temps. Based on that I would remove all fruit so that the tree can heal . Give it adequate light indoors and be patient.

For the drip line, what is your schedule like in summer season? I’m in a similar climate. Warmer parts of Bay Area - East Bay. I’ve been watering my Meyer lemons by hand, but I also have a drip line which I shut off to the lemons because I am afraid that i’m going to overwater them. I only have two zones and a bunch of other plants in that zone. Just curious what your watering schedule is like as I have very similar drip line setup, i. e. the same rain bird emitter.

3 x per day at 5 minute intervals in heat over 90 degrees or more. Anything less and I will water 1 x per day for 5-10 minutes depending on the size of the containers

If you do not have it on a dolly or is not portable. Than be sure to cover it completely top to bottom with shade cloth. 2 layers would be best of course I would rather move indoors such as a garage.

Martine, I live in the north east zone 6B , I followed your soil recommendations for containers 65% azaleas 30% bark 5%cactus and some perlite And soil stays wet too long seemed like it could go a month between watering. So I pulled everything out used about 65 % bark and the rest azalea mix with perlite and added some vermiculite. They seem to be be doing much better, got a lot of new growth but very slow. We have had a lot of rain so no need to water lately . It is very hard to get similar products that you use . We got coast of Maine azaleas and pine bark mulch ,I have ordered pine bark fines but only sold in small bags like 4qts . I’m thinking maybe the difference in climate , do you have any suggestions for a lite quick drying potting soil. Also sprayed the leaves with fish emulsion and seaweed and lil bit of iron and seems to stain the foliage , leaves behind a dust when it dries and will not wash off not a fan of foliar spray so far . 1tbsp of each per gallon and maybe 1 tsp of the chelated iron. Ph is good checked a few times 5.5 -6.0 , fertilize monthly just wondering if this has happened to you, maybe need to be more patient .Keep up the great videos really good stuff. Best citrus content by far love to see more on how your trees are doing. Thanks

Jay that is not my mix at all. I don't know where you got that from. I don't and have never used perlite in any of my citrus mix (NEVER). No wonder you are holding onto water. Name is Elder Yehudah! Go back and watch my citrus playlist and you shall see. I use Azalea, Potting soil and micro bark and that's it. Don't put that on me

ORGANICS BEST URBAN GARDNER I apologize for the confusion Elder , but Some of the old vids you had used coco coir and I know you don’t anymore . So just the azaleas and micro bark and that’s it , no cactus and succulent either. That’s my bad I will go and watch your citrus playlist. As far as the staining of leaves when you foliar spray you have no issues with that. Just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t different products or because I live in a colder climate Perlite is on me that is why I am asking not to question Thank you

Hey! So I've been watching your videos, great stuff! I want to buy a lemon tree, but I had a bad start with my first one, I didn't give it the best conditions and it died. I feel very bad, but I researched a lot since then. Anyway, you said in one of your videos that Meyer lemons are finnicky. As a beginner that wants to get something to grow successfully, should I avoid the Meyer and go with something else? Unfortunately I live in an appartment, but it is situated on 7th floor and gets a lot of light, living room is south facing. I also have an open balcony where I plan to put it throughout summer. Winters here are pretty harsh, going below freezing, so it'll have to stay inside, near the window. Will buy a grow light for extra light in the winter months. I know conditions aren't ideal, but I'm trying to work with what i have.

Light is not reaching the lower leaves, too much water or too little water and or not consistent watering. These are usually the cause. I suspect that it will be the latter. Please let me know

I have a variegated lemon that I bought last winters. It got root rot. I repotted it in new soil 8 weeks ago. It had four leaves. It still has four leaves. It has had a couple of blossoms (I pinched off the lemons that set on). But I can’t see ANY sign of new leaves. What should I do? I’m about ready to toss it and start over. 😞
