Another beautiful melody Phil. Nobody comes close to you at composing Scottish slow airs. Sheer genius.Every one of them moves me to tears!

I agree. I can listen to him and Aly Bain play all day. I'm sorry that I'm only 1/4 Scottish (through my paternal grandmother). I'm very proud of my Scottish heritage, but I especially love the music. I also love to watch the videos of Phil playing with his late brother, Johnny. What an amazing fiddle player Johnny was!

I couldn’t agree more. I could, and often do, listen to them all day long and can’t wait for their next concert in my area. Thanks Phil and Aly for what you have given me!

The greatest piano box player on this planet and you'd be very hard pushed to find a composer of slow airs that can beat Phil, emotion flowing from each note.

Ya, and when his brother, Johnny was still alive, they played so fast only dogs could hear them 😁.

Phil Cunningham (and brother Johnny) were part of Scottish super-band "Silly Wizard", with the incredibly delightful singer Andy Stewart, back in the 80s.

You're welcome! I'm learning to play the Uilleann pipes at long last, and being a left-hander without a tutor is a challenge, but having discovered Mike McGoldrick, I'm set on him being my influence. This tune is one I am learning to play, and thanks to the HD I'm able to pick up some great grace note tricks and 'quivers' ( though I'm sure they have a musical term!).
