There was something special about them Summer Nights when Marty and Joe were on the radio in the neighborhoods of Cincinnati. People on their porch, back porch and the corner stores with the game going just gave you a special warm feeling that we will never have again. Miss ya Joe! God bless Marty!

Hes been in my life as the voice since I was 4 years old. My greatest memory is growing up poor, hitting rocks with a wiffle ball bat across the Miami river listening to him and Joe. in the 70s and early 80s. Although I now live in Texas, I would never watch or listen to the Reds without expecting his voice. I will miss this voice and The Reds will never be the same. 40 + years belong to Marty Brennaman. You gave us great memories in bad places and made it a better for us. Congrats on your retirement. All the best on your endeavours with you and your family

Thank you so much Marty, you'll be greatly missed! When I moved here at 5 years old & moved in with my grandparents, I was a scared, nervous little boy moving to a totally new place with people I didn't really know at the time. But my first night there my grandpa (RIP) was listening to you and the old lefty. He told me to pull up a chair & listen to the game & from that moment I fell in love with baseball & especially the Reds! You & my grandpa help ease me into a rough situation & all because of the way you call a game, thanks again Marty & all the best in your future endeavors. You're forever a Red!

It sure will be weird not hearing him any longer. My favorite call of his will always be the Dave Pallone Game. I also loved the "apology" the stupid commissioner forced him to make afterwards. As a kid I thought Marty and Joe were the only baseball announcers on the radio. I just figured they called every teams baseball games for them. Then one day I learned how to tune the dial on accident. The radio picked up a station I guess out of St. Louis and it was a Cardinals-Mets game. I was shocked that the familiar voice of Marty and Joe had been replaced by whoever the announcers were at the time, and I didn't like it. I figured out quick how to tune it back to WLW. In the 9th inning of Game 4 of the '90 World Series, my dad turned the TV down so we could listen to Marty and Joe call it. Some 22 years later, I turned the TV down so my kids could hear Marty call both of Bailey's no-hitters. In the words of Joe Nuxhall "Thank ya Marty"
