On April 15, 2024, the Marty Center hosted an engaging roundtable discussion about American Judaism. What does it mean to be Jewish in the United States? How has that meaning changed over time? What are the ways that Judaism is intertwined with the American nation, from its politics and material cultures to its religious landscapes? What have people in the United States, both Jewish and non-Jewish alike, failed to understand about American Judaism? "This American Jewish Life" invited discussion of these and many other questions and offered guests an opportunity to engage in meaningful, innovative ways.
This was the final event of "Reflections on Judaism and Jewish Life: A Marty Center Series." Created in partnership with the Greenberg Center for Jewish Studies, this three-part public program aimed to enrich and expand conversations about Judaism and the traditions of thought and practice that surround it.
