As an old Marty fan this is the first time I see him play 4 ballads straight. I really appreciate that. We all know Marty can play fast but there are only few who can play fast and slow with that feeling!!! That’s why Marty is my favorite. Not because he was fast but because he can pierce your soul with his ballads.

What I love in Marty's music, as well as in Becker's, is that the background music isn't just a lifeless distorted backing track for the shredder to show his skills, but it is a real composition that could bring you emotions even without the guitar, which is the main instrument. Becker and Marty are both great guitarists and composers in total!

One of my favorite guitarists. Down to earth, approachable and his playing is out of this world. Thanks for sharing this experience with us. Stating the obvious, he looks decades younger than his age, and he didn't age a bit since I saw him in early 2019 in Madison, WI (I was standing right next to the stage)!

Marty is 62! I had no idea. After a lifetime of playing guitar. He still has it on a technical level. Was he doing some kind of hybrid picking with his fingers?I have never noticed before. He holds his pick so weird. I try not to look sometimes... Great playing and performance. Especially with just a backing track to play to. Glad to see Marty is still killing it year after year.

My only question would be well two questions how does he not break any strings and how does he stay in tune without a lock nut & Floyd rose ?? If i were to play live i would have a double neck with two six strings so in case one broke strings or went out of tune i would just switch to the second nexk with six strings !!!
@dogman568012 күн бұрын
douglasasgugel2752 it would appear you don’t play… a locking nut is only needed for a whammy bar which Marty has no use for. And if your nut is cut properly, and your strings are new and stretched in they shouldn’t break or go out of tune. Lastly double necks are not made for duplication, usually a 12 string neck, bass, seven string, etc. your comment makes zero sense.

So this is how Marty’s tone sounds on a Fender, I was slightly disappointed that he isn't using single coils.
@acw2237Ай бұрын
It's all about the gain he relies on for his type of playing .. single coil just isn't good enough. But I can also tell he is losing a lot of natural sustain with a bolt on. Maybe Fender should bring back the HM STRAT for Marty
