Great Video Marty! Just replaced the Xenon lights my Glacier Frost 2007 Lexus IS250 with the VLAND's. After 13 years the headlights had yellowed from UV rays and even with using Chemical Guys technique to remove the surface layer they stayed "clearish" for only a few months. I tried a liquid seal but didn't help much. The most annoying part of the install was just putting the Bumper back together on the bottom with the retainer clips. Living in Canada you CANNOT turn off the DRL using Toyota techstream as you had mentioned, no option for it, but VLAND must of updated the firmware because it's plug and play - the high beams do not act as the DRL. Only the strip stays illuminated which works out great since there is no flickering possibility because of voltage issues.

I have them on my 2010 IS and it’s the best thing I have ever done. It’s beautiful and so far no problems at all. Only thing is they aren’t heated so in the winter that’s something to keep in mind

dont do what he did to the headlights. Idk if it's standard on all of them but the HIDs on the car are auto leveling and turn when you turn. You get rid of this by "upgrading" to these leds.

Nah.. he downgraded from HID to a halogen and then upgraded it with cheap LED bulbs. Form over substance I guess. Looks great but won’t beat factory HID.

You can order these and they are plug and play or just get LED bulbs for your car, whichever size they are. Usually H7 or something similar

I disabled it in a different video - you have to use a powerful scanner or Techstream software to do it in 06-08 models I believe. Later on, they changed how the DRL works

Yes they will fit, held up well and there is no option for the AFS auto leveling. It needs to be disabled unfortunately

I am currently debating with myself what headlight should I get. The ones you have with v shape line at bottom looks more oem for me, I like them more. But the new ones with v shape lines at top have very cool looking blue breathing animation and all 3 squared lights work while low beam is on.

I’m a little confused about the whole DRL flickering issue. I just installed a set of these on my 2008 IS350 and everything seems to be working great. The led strips act as DRLs, when low beams are on I have two of the three lights on, and with high beams all 3 on. I haven’t disabled the factory DRL and I have not noticed any flickering. Maybe they updated them?

The problem I have with aftermarket LED's...when someone is behind me their light blinds me (here I give thanks to the auto dimming mirror), and when in the opposite lane passing me, they blind me and other people on the road. Even when they are leveled properly, which is not a lot of cases, they are just way to bright. I can always tell when someone has installed an aftermarket LED versus factory LED's

Nah. I'm always blinded by newer cars. All new cars have bright ass LEDs stock. There's no difference between aftermarket and factory, both will blind you depending on your car height.

Nice video, I bought my set last year at $540 includes shipping via Ebay, there's going to be instructions on what to do and provided fuse and relay. It's far better than the OEM since my ISF is 2012 it just has the self leveling feature which has a fuse to be disconnected so that your on board computer wont throw off a error code. The shitty part is only 2 led works per side, the 3rd is for the high beam.. I have no issues since I installed mine.. it updates the looks for all 2nd gen IS. 👌👍🙂

@@DWillz250 I'd say it's comparable to the stock HID in whiteness and cutoff, if setup correctly. Most people don't adjust them.

@@is4life862 yes the LED are brighter than the OEM Hid, although my Fog lights are HID , it compensates for brightness, you need to adjust the LED manually on the instructions it will indicate the up or down level, the thing that yours going to loose out on ,is if your IS year is between 06-2010 is your ALS and 2011-2014 is the auto leveling. The drl and signal lights functions better than OEM.

@@DWillz250 output on regular beam is brighter than the HID when the light reflects its wider from my driving view, my ISF fogs are HID so it also compensates to the brightness. My lights has been on the ISF for a year now, the ones who say they aren't well probably didn't follow the instructions on installation and leveling the lense accordingly.

From what I've seen and mentioned in the video, the connector/harness is all the same. The AFS fuse needs to be taken out so you don't get an AFS light on the dash for all models. Also, the DRL harness needs to be connected whether the factory lights were halogen or HID. They should fit any Lexus IS 2006-2013

Hey Marty, I had gotten the headlights and brought it to a shop to get installed I wasn't there but I came back a couple days again and my camera doesn't work, my windows go down after going all the way up, and they wired the acc harness to the fuse box under the steering wheel as a pose to the one under the hood. Ps the car won't start because the battery is dead and I charged it, after a good 20 minutes it died again. So do you think all of those problems are coming from them putting the acc wire under the steering wheel fuse box. Also they had installed it before but they didn't put the acc wire at first and told them that they have to because that's how the DRL will work lowkey wish I didn't even say nothing and just did it myself but now I'm stuck.
