I know a guy who once named a cat "Harley", because she sounded so much like a Harley-Davidson motorcycle when she purred. I cat-sat for him for a week, and was sad to see her go when he got back. That was actually my first cat I ever had as an adult.

Maru often makes me think of my Kyo that passed away a few years ago. ❤❤❤ Kyo was also a big, chill, purring, cuddle bug that loved boxed and would wander around the house wearing odd things.

Maru is a Scottish Fold straight-ear. I've had 9 foldies (both folded and straight-ear )since 1995. All except one, they have all purred and are laid back cats. The saying among foldie parents is: "Once a foldie, always a foldie!"😊 I have yet to meet a mean foldie. Any vet who has ever treated my foldies, say that if all cats were like them, they wouldn't mind treating them. Also, 2 of mine were members of Pets on Wheels and visited in 2 hospitals and 4 nursing/rehabilitation facilities. I currently have 3 foldies 14 and 11 years in age. All but 2 have lived up to 17 and one made it to 20 years.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience of Maru purring. Interesting that he appears so much more silent to us, like a zen master, but I suppose we would need to be close to Maru with you, like today, to hear all this purring you have always known.
