I'm actually really liking State's commentary. He's very observant about the micro and tactical details, while Artosis goes off about strategy. Also his style has zero ego and tons of energy, which is a great complement and very approachable. Don't get me wrong, I do greatly enjoy Reynor for example picking apart the players he's casting, but that style isn't something I want to listen to when I just want to kick back and relax. Also helps that Artosis seems to be a lot more friendly and engaging with his (non-Tasteless) co-caster. I do recall a couple of GSL casts some years ago where he was cold, almost hostile to his co-caster, and that was really weird.

I do think Ghosts need a nerf. They are just too good at everything. They do bonus damage against light, they can snipe armored units like Ultralisks and Lurkers, and then they can EMP Protoss.

As a Zerg main, Maru is a nightmare. He forces you to defend when you'd want to attack. Early (3base) muta/ling/bane would be my choice vs him but one mismicro would result in a loss; shutting down the drops w muta, counter w speedling/bane. Letting him attack early-midgame seems like an auto-loss. As stupid as it sounds 3spine/3spore per base could thwart him while giving an opportunity for counter. You lose ~10-20 drones per harass so it should be worth.

Mostly because they cant kill marines. More corrupters means less lings and banes. Lose the fight the corruptors die anyway. Maybe you kill the medivacs but then the marines will just pound ya

Corruptors do nothing again anything else in the terran army and then get super hard countered by ghosts.

Medivacs are medical units and according to Geneva convention, it’s forbidden to hurt or kill them

The more corrupters you have, the less ling/bane you have. Ling/bane needs a critical mass to threaten a bio army, otherwise they just evaporate at the edge of the marines' range. At the end of a big engagement, you end up with a big cluster of marines and marauders at ~75% health against a flock of corruptors, so the bioball just pushes forward and smashes Zerg bases.

Corruptors are far too slow to counter medivacs. Even when micro'd, boosted medivacs can outrun them and still drop. Tech into spire costs money, corruptors cost a lot of money, and they take up supply and are otherwise useless against the rest of the bio. Mutas are almost always the better choice as they are much faster, can actually snipe some bio units, can harass SCVs, give you map control, regen out of combat, and have far greater micro potential. Zerg absolutly needs a critical mass of units to fight, if you look how terrans fight. They set up siege tanks very split and in layers, create little pockets of bio 8-20 units big, then send a small little army to go poke and engage while the rest wait idly for the zerg engage. Zerg then has to fight this army by positioning units on all sides, then collapse with all their armies at once hoping that they have a critical mass to wipe them out in one swoop whilst having enough units to offer a sacrafice to the siege tanks and widow mine gods. Otherwise the terran army will heal back up all their bio, leap frog their tanks, and recharge their widow mines and regain a lot of their strength. Zerg armies by comparison don't actually regain much strength between engagements, zerg has ravager biles and muta regen but that's about it. Ling bane is a lot worse against protoss due to these awesome units called high templar and archons which eat them for breakfast.

Because if Maru had actually been all-in, Solar would've lost the hatch, which is very expensive this early in the game. Canceling a building refunds you some of the resources spent building it--he spent the refunded resources building spine crawlers and zerglings.

Maru has a reputation for being super cheesy at times--he's not above pulling the boys for a high-risk early game pulling the boys + bunker rush, though usually it's paired with a proxy rax. IIRC Blackburn has a lower rush distance than some of the other maps, lessening the impact of no proxy, but it was still a pretty bad misread by Solar. For high speculation, there's a smaaaall possibility that there's a racial bias as well--if you've watched other Korean Zerg play, there are kind of a lot of early game drone pull shenanigans that go on. Even though Maru is Terran, Solar having Zerg colleagues that frequently pull the boys might lean him towards being extra wary of that happening. Edited to add: Maru didn't intend to mindgame Solar. Solar mindgamed himself lol

Solar played like a fucking silver this game… so many mistakes.
