In any combustion engine two parameters are important. one is temperature and the other is rpm. If either the rpm or the temperature crosses an upper limit then the engine should shut down automatically. Any Marine engine or a diesel generator engine or a fire pump engine will have this feature. That the OEM service centre insisted on change of engine totally is testimony to the use and throw concept of the new generation. That they at least refrained from insisting on replacement of the car shows their generosity! The mechanic had done a perfect job with a mixture of new and second hand parts. His approach and temperament was perfect. Kudos to these people who are the real back bone of our great country.

With the automation and Instrumentation/Sensors available, the ECM of car should have automatically shut down the engine. Why the car manufacturers didn't implement this safety feature in Cars is anybody's guess.

i have swift vdi 2009 model . engine is in worse condition, white smoke is coming out of it and timing set is also not proper. i need to do overhauling of the engine including timimg setting . also in inter cooler lot of oil is accumulating . so what should i do.. show i repair or go for new car. if so what will be repair cost for mentioned problems. plz let me know

Aligning crankshaft and camshaft is a very crucial step. Usually, old and maybe some new cars have a timing belt instead of a chain. If they are not aligned properly then piston will hit valves and again you will end up with a broken engine.

Meri swift 2010 k injector showroom walo ne kharab kar diye the nikalne k tym. Abhi maine new injector daal diye hai. Per ab gadhi black smoke mar rahi hai plus knocking plus missing kar rahi hai. Kya ho sakta hai reason.
