2019 Maruti Suzuki Omni is here. Maruti Omni is the most recognizable car of India. The reason is simple, its design. Take a box and add 4 wheels; Done! The iconic boxy car of India is also famous as 'Kidnapping Car' of Bollywood. Because of the sliding doors and face to face seats, its an ideal vehicle for kidnapping! jokes a part, Omni was the cheapest car on sale in India after Tata Nano. The reason I said 'was' because production of Omni is stopped now and you can't buy a new Omni. Reason is Government regulations and rules. Because of its design, Omni was the least safe car in India. There is no crumple zone at all. If Omni crashes head on, there are 0 chances of occupants to servieve. It is 1 of its kind, yes but I hope it will not be the last of its kind. Pity though many mistake it for being a front wheel drive when it's actually a brilliant rear wheel drive vehicle. When Suzuki is ready with its mild hybrid technology for the 3 cylinders engines aswell, I hope the Omni gets one too. The Omni will then quietly guard the crown for the next 35 years.
