The Maruti Swift has sold well over 13 lakh units since its launch way back in 2005. It comes with a diesel and petrol motor, both of which are excellent in refinement as well as fuel efficiency. So does the Swift have any major vices? Here is our exhaustive video with the answer.
Maruti Swift petrol comes in six variants: LXI, LXI (O), LXI Optional (O), VXI, VXI (O) and ZXI, while priced in a range of Rs. 4.75-6.36 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom, Delhi). The petrol variants are powered by the 1.2L 4-cylinder K12 engine which develops 83bhp and 115 Nm, while returning 20.4kmpl (ARAI Specified). On the other hand, the Swift diesel is available in five variants: LDI, LDI (O), VDI, VDI (O) and ZDI, with price starting from Rs. 5.96 Lakhs and going as high as Rs. 7.43 Lakhs (Both Ex. Showroom, Delhi) for the top variant. Deriving power from the 1.3L 4-cylinder DDiS engine, they unleash 74bhp and 190Nm, while delivering mileage of 25.2kmpl (ARAI Specified).

but disel model insanely good. once the turbo on you can fly. I was driving with 5 people with ac still no issues I was cruising in 130 but doesn't feel at all. gives good confidence as well as great stability.

rear seat is not comfortable for 3 healthy passengers.the rear seat is narrow than i20. my height is 6 feet 2 inch but my head touch the roof of the swift.

slayworld1 This hatchback can last you 10 years without fuss but its not the right timr to get this car as an update is due for 2018. Swift has tiny boot and the legroom isnt so good either, rivals are offering the same at attractive pricing or with morr features in the package.

Joseline Joseph Ignis will be the better option for you as the petrol engine is really good, ride and handling is good, cabin space is decent, bootspace is adequate and definitely larger than swift. Safety features come as standard so even sigma variant can be a good buy. I recommend to chose delta or sigma depending on your budget. Zeta and alpha give you more features but then you enter into baleno and dzire's price range where I feel dzire vxi can be the better choice (get the wheels amd tyres upgraded as per the suggestion above) Grand i10's suspension is on the softer side, highway stability and steering response is below satisfactory when rivals are like swift. Brio as a whole is a good car but it has mixed opinion Ford figo can be a good buy as well. Its ride and handling js excellent, space is good and is excellent value for money especially in the Titanium+ variant which has 6 airbags. I recommend you to watch autoportal's ford aspire petrol long term review which can give you an idea Not recommending swift coz its showing its age and an update is due. Ignis as a whole offers more boot space, equal overall quality, lower weight so maybe better acceleration and most importantly safety features as standard and more features for the price

+prashant satpute maruti swift is a low maintanance car , ford is bit costly in this aspect , contrary to many popular beleif maruti products has decent life on things which u need to replace like break pads ....... On ford figo it looks very appealing on certein colours like black , engine is more powerful, wont notice it in city speeds but will come into picture in highways........... interiors are gud in ford..... one more factor is too many swifts are there in road but , figo gives a bit exclusive purchase feeling to you , but same can be negative as well, if u are in tire 2 city servicing the car will be a issue............... as figo montly sales figure is low

It seems Maruti Suzuki Swift people have given a good amount to autoportal to say a lot of good abt the car.. swift is only making market coz it's cheap car in terms of rates but the quality they used on body and interior is worst.. low quality product without saftey features.. in global ncap test Swift got only 0.5 out of 5. so choose the car wisely not just by rates.

Unfortunately every Indian hatchback has terrible ncap score... except Polo and i20 maybe... but than fully featured Polo and i20 get really pricey. Until govt steps in and makes safety features a necessity and not an option it won't work.
