Marvel Champions: Top 10 Solo Aggression Heroes

Just a heads up and to be clear, there are a bunch more heroes that are fantastic for playing solo in the Aggression aspect. And several of them are stronger than a few of those listed here. I wanted to showcase heroes from a variety of traits (max 3 from Avengers or X-Men etc) and in a variety of styles. And not repeat the same heroes too much across my Top 10 series. When it comes to power, I'd repeat as necessary. But this was just a list of fun heroes who can do well in Aggression, not the most powerful, as said near the beginning. Thanks all 😁

I liked the approach of this top 10 because it wasn’t “the 10 best” so much as it was “10 heroes who actually can play Aggression in solo and who will actually allow you to have fun with a hero you might not always play or a unique combo or archetype.” And I think that’s really valuable.

Thanks for the video Villain Theory! I think most people use him to rush, but I actually really like a troop commander build with Star Lord. Getting to put Energy Spear on any ally and playing Boot Camp is just fun! Thor can hit all minions for six, Tigra can almost guarantee getting to heal with five attack, and Brawn can attack for four and then thwart one (potentially doing twenty damage and five threat removal for an erc of four). As well as heroes that work well with a given aspect, it might be fun to have a corresponding video on heroes that don't work so well too. Thanks again, looking forward to your next video!

Nice video One thing I like to do with Black widow in aggression are to combo Toe to Toe, Counterattack and Synth-Suit especially against high attack low scheming villains

This was a great idea for a video and I really really enjoyed it. I’m definitely in that group of solo players doesn’t really mess with aggression very much but with the right hero I can have fun with it. I know you don’t like him, but Iceman is one of my favorites to run aggression in solo. his ability to keep the scheming low coupled with recycling chill out has been a lot of fun for me

That's great! I really had to hold back on the quantity of X-Men and X-Force on this list or they were going to take over the whole thing. They're so much more solo-friendly than many of the old heroes.

@@VillainTheory that’s true, and I’m so thankful for it. I remember the speculation that they wouldn’t be very solo friendly because the mutants are so team oriented. I think they did such a great job of balancing that team feeling while also allowing most of the heroes to play verywell in solo.

I have never been a fan of rush decks unless it is against collector or Ronan. A lot of single hander youtubers talk about how they like how they don't want games to be too long but for me I am more concerned about games being too short. If it takes more time to set up than play and win it is more disappointing than if I have a long slow defeat. I know I have been putting out a bunch of video ideas but another I thought of was tips on looking at a hero deck and identifying what it needs for deckbuilding purposes for each aspect. With the reveal of no Emma deck I have turned to custom heroes where I found several. Plus a whole bunch of DC and Star Wars heroes and villains. I got a bunch printed out along with other Marvel heroes like Emma, the Cuckoos, Coulson, and Quake. As someone who relies on MarvelCDB I am having to build my own decks for these heroes. Also unrelated but I just played your Wolverine Bub Club deck and it's amazing. Jubilee did 12 damage in one turn winning the game

I’ve come around to aggression. I used to think you had to rush but with the right build and hero you can do a lot of control things with it. Great video villain.

I think the coolest draw for Gamora is Energy Spear. That's a fun build around that lets you maximize the Guardians allies while Gamora can do her normal event thing around it. Bug + Energy Spear is peak Black Cat shenanigans, but Angela, Drax, Rocket, and Martinex all get great use out of it.

Honestly I don't think any of these heroes struggle in 2-player at all. No joke, looked back at my top 10 and I see no issues. If I had to pick one I'd say Black Widow because her baseline damage is the lowest - but her preparation shenanigans and flipping alter-ego get better, so...!

I think Rogue also got a huge buff in aggression with Ice Man's pack and I think Rogue does what Ice Man does, just way better lol. Do you happen to have a marvelcdb deck list for your Black Widow aggression deck? I've been trying so hard to make her work well in aggression but just can't get it going.

Getting to Stage 3 is a little trickier in Aggression than some aspects but, once you're there, 100%

Great list! I haven’t tried some of these in aggression yet, but Ant-Man aggression has been my favorite way to play him. I like building so he’s mainly indirect/non-attack damage. Curious, how do you feel about Nova solo aggression? He’s another I like mainly aggression.

I’m really surprised to not see X-23 on this list. She’s so incredibly capable of handling everything thrown at her without having to force herself into a rush archetype in solo, and I think X-23 uniquely really feeds into whatever aspect she is in. I feel like whatever aspect she is in informs her play very much, as opposed to just being 25 cards you have to put in to get to 40.

X-23 was on the short list but I didn't want to include more than 3 X-Force heroes in one Top 10. Aggression is also my least favourite aspect for her (though it's still amazing), so I'd rather focus on her in a different video!

Wolverine was on the short list (pun intended) but I didn't want to include more than 3 X-Men on one list of 10. Gambit, Magik, Bishop and Phoenix all could have been on here too.
