I believe it's because even though Vision is the purest hero, it's because he was designed that way. Unlike Tony Stark or Starlord who had multiple flaws or have done questionable things, they still remain intensely heroic and always strive to do good. Vision doesn't have any flaws. He is a perfect, moral AI, who is almost incapable of doing wrong. Vision, by the numbers, is most likely the goodest hero, but it's kinda cheating when you were made to be good.

Marcia Sumarriva had he been randomly killing innocent people, you might’ve had a point. The problem is Clint has had a lot of pure hearted and selfless moments like not taking out Natasha, that pep talk to Wanda, that soul stone sacrifice attempt, etc. Not to excuse what he was doing, but his good far outweigh his bad. I can’t say that about Rocket and Drax.

I really like Star Lord He’s funny and charismatic and I really sympathized with what he’s been through and respect the leader he was for the Guardians in vol 1 and 2 Most people like Rocket and Groot the best but Star Lord is my favorite Guardian Of The Galaxy.

I think Drax has wound up my favorite (at least in the movie versions). He's a lot of fun but has a lot of complexity boiling beneath the surface. I'm infinitely moved by the scene in Vol. 2 when he's staring out over the field, and Mantis touches him and just bursts into tears. Even at his goofiest, there's so much pain that he's dealing with and trying to just continue on and do the best he can with his new family. I love all the Guardians though, and they've all been given that level of depth. Star-Lord is fantastic and does not deserve the shit people gave him for punching Thanos - he was never portrayed as a perfect person, and seriously can you blame him? Most people would've done the same.

Captain America definitely deserves the gold medal. He stood by his friend knowing that the government was after him. He applied several times and failed to enter the war until he was finally given the chance to put a fight. He is extremely humble and loyal to his friends to the end of the line

I think Thor deserves a higher spot and I think that Steve should have been second. I know worthiness is incredibly vague, but I think that Steve would have been worthy ever since he was 100% willing to sacrifice himself by jumping on the dummy grenade in his first movie. In fact, Whedon said that Steve could have lifted the hammer in age of ultron, but didn’t because he didn’t want to upstage Thor or make him jealous. I think tony would not have been worthy until when he broke into the Donut ship in infinity war, I think from then on he would have been worthy. Just my thoughts.

@@carson11100 keep in mind Cap wielded Mjolnir as well which automatically puts him above most people on this list. His lie to Tony is one of the only negative attributes. Yeah he went to high ends to protect Bucky but give him a break. Bucky is an innocent man trying to get his life back together and Cap used Bucky to try and stop other Winter Soldiers as well. He was willing to put his own life in danger and forever running in order to save lives. He never puts himself first and never uses vengeance as his motivation, only defense. Most of the characters on this list were fueled by a trait like greed, narcissism, overuse of emotions, arrogance, and vengeance, while Cap never felt that.

I thought I was the only one. Yeah, I could not agree more. Iron Man is a heroic jerk who acts arrogant and self centered and multiple occasions, whereas Captain America is pure good and has absolutely nothing corrupting about him.

Honestly several people on this list should've been placed higher due to being very pure of heart(like Mantis and Groot), but the person who deserved that the most was Steve Rogers/Captain America. I know that he went against the avengers at one point(trying to kill Tony) and one of his last scenes was him being selfish, but he was always the 2nd most good hero. I still agree that the gold spot should go to who you said they were(I'm not saying because I don't want to spoil the list more than I already have), but honestly he should have been ranked higher than third.

Steve didn't actually try to KILL Tony. He was trying to incapacitate him to make sure he couldn't attack Bucky anymore. The only way he could do that was by destroying the arc reactor so that Tony's suit couldn't work.
