I keep coming back to this video as a master-class example of what fan music videos should be. The timing on the editing is impeccably tight, with the "ting tings" especially mapped perfectly to the clip choices. The clips themselves flow into each other perfectly, with the attention to similar placement of major figures within the shots. The clips are also chosen to resonate extremely well with the lyrics, especially the contrast of Steve and Bucky on "Men who sold their lives to a dream." The integration of the actual sound in the clips meshes perfectly with the rhythm of the song, nothing CLASHES. The whole thing is just... first rate.

Steve and Bucky were both WW2 soldiers, the war effort being the dream, but you could also make the argument that it was the super soldier program. Granted, Steve did that willingly while Bucky was an unwilling test subject of brainwashing and experiments...but let’s not get into semantics. And if we’re taking the line about shadows literally, these men have taken part in a war that still holds the title of “bloodiest armed conflict in the world”, and that’s on a global scale. So, they’d cast a pretty big figurative shadow.

1:29 is my favorite moment because I love how Strange being knocked back isn't on that last "ting" but on the lyric instead. This whole video is just so beautiful! From the timing of each move with the rhythm, how the video subtly follow the lyrics, how the clips match up with one another perfectly, everything! Probably very high quality versions where the audio tracks are separated so you can take out certain individual ones.

I think I've watched this at least once a month - it is all of the good things everyone has said about it and there really aren't words of high enough praise to articulate everything that it brilliant about the choice of clips, timing, spectacular inclusion when, and where, of sound from the films - the mash-up of scenes with similar movements or bleeding one scene to the next in a continuous movement. My favorite scenes are the ones where the heavy breaths lead to Tony blasting Steve's shield and matched perfectly to the musical score. And yet saying "favorite" does not diminish the fact that ALL of this is my favorite video of all time and likely will remain so. I feel uplifted and excited and motivated when I watch this. I want to be creative, too, and it is the perfect thing to watch when I need to be inspired.

The sound level of the effects from the movies that you left in didn't overwhelm the music and vice versa- a perfect balance between the two. And the TIMING. Holy shit the moment at 2:18 where tony shoots cap's shield in perfect time with the beat... breathtaking. I have seen many good edits that used cool shots and fast music so I liked them and was entertained, very rarely do I see edits where the actual putting together of said shots and sound altering was AMAZING. You are super talented, this was brilliant.
