You can clearly see where T'Challa gets it from: T'Chaka don't bullshit, so neither does he. However, we can also see the one major difference between him and his father. T'Chaka's only weakness was letting his anger get the better of him, which lead to his own death and nearly his wife and daughter's and his final interaction with T'Challa was to yell at him for being innocently confused by the change in plans. Yeah, T'Challa gets angry but not like T'Chaka. But even still, it shows how much T'Chaka influenced T'Challa on what do to and not to do when he became king, and possibly why he hesitates to have children, yet clearly helped his mother raise Shuri.

This series is absolutely amazing, such diverse and intelligent themes and brilliant dialogue told with a beautiful art&animation style. Didn't expect religious themes too, after already being quite impressed by the political touch in the last episode - I am pleasantly surprised these themes are included and handled with such confidence, and care to both sides of these matters. I will be recommending this to my friends and sharing this in animation class with teachers and students. This is the kind of stuff I want to see! I was surprised when I noticed this and took a closer look, I admit the main stream animations from Marvel I've seen on Netflix haven't really been able to keep my attention being more aimed towards an audience younger than myself, with not much themes, dialogue or intellectual content to grasp onto. But as an art&animation student I've watched them and found them leaving me quite empty. But this one, this one is brilliant to look at, to listen to and it gives me insight into topics that are very interesting and divisive.

5:43 This whole conversation is just awesome.Only 3 episodes in, I am loving this series. Frankly, I just started watching it thinking it would be a good timepass stuff of children, but this is really serious stuff. Ironically this animated series is more edgy, mature and political than any live MCU movie made yet. The whole idea of Wakanada - an advanced country even progressive than the whole West even in areas where they are failing - completely subverts the idea of colonization where the West thinks the rest of the world as savages and need to be civilized. Whereas here Tchaka shows that the rich Western countries are true barbarians who have not yet outgrown their hunger for weath and power. The way the characters are discussing world politics, colonization, racism, name dropping countries and even the discussion over how Christianity is hell bent over converting people they think worship false gods - just amazing. I doubt they would ever risk showing even this much in the live action films, though I would definitely watch such a movie instead of the formulaic movies Marvel throws out.
@citronm14053 жыл бұрын
I agree +Animesh. I loved the movie but this animation, and the comic series by Reginald Hudlin it is based on, is better than the movie! As successful as the Black Panther movie was, I think it would have been even more popular globally if written in the spirit of this series. The movie could have made 'Avatar" like money, and been the number 1 movie ever, if it showed Wakanda forcefully oppose and triumph over Western imperialism in general and/or the United States in particular! Sort of like how appreciated it was in the TV series "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" when the Dora Milaje humiliate the new Captain America. The producers could have even used SHIELD or Hydra as national proxies if using actual countries' names were too frightening.

The animation was my biggest complaint but THIS IS THE BLACK PANTHER. Not the watered down Martin Luther King Simp they turned him into in the movie. Even the new comic book series is a little better than the movie.
@blackgold7544 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t say he was mlk simp but he was just weak in the movie

@JJ Kingman That didn't age well.........

@JJ Kingman I think I used that just fine. Recasting wouldn't be a good choice in my opinion though.
@deoisonline4 жыл бұрын
@JJ Kingman Well I still think I didn't use it wrongly. The guy that made that comment was talking about T' Challa and you said ''Hopefully they can do much better in the sequel'' Which means you're referring to T'Challa. Unless you're referring o something else but that wouldn't make any sense now would it? Also, many people are too emotionally attached to Chadwick as BP. Tell me when some one mentions Black Panther you don't immediately think of Chadwick Sorry boomer, but you're wrong. 🤷🏿♂️
@deoisonline4 жыл бұрын
@JJ Kingman Lol I don't care if you read my reply all I know is that I'm right. Unlike you my replies are based on facts. Just because he mentioned how he didn't like the animation at first doesn't mean that was his main point. Did you do English in school? 😂 I think you're the one who has the large ego here Mr. Have a good day 🙃

the story of him and Storm was cool and all but if I remember right she was like 12 when that happened in the comic and he was like 16 or 17 and I think they even slept together in that
@767scarecrow6 жыл бұрын
This is the comic though? It's adapted straight right? Or do they omit things?
@spider12666 жыл бұрын
767scarecrow well in the original comic I don't even think Storm was involved also they used Rhino instead of Juggernaut
@767scarecrow6 жыл бұрын
Ah, I see. In any case, it's Reginald Hudlin adapting his own work.

The walkabout is definitely a great rite of passage for Wakandan teenagers! Being exiled from the safety and comfort of your kingdom and experiencing the chaos of life itself with nothing but the clothes on your back and some spare change in your pocket is essential for maturity and growth!
