I wish they kept the fight between the kings guard and her husband. It explains a lot more about why the guy turn on T'challa. To me it just felt odd that T'Challa failed him just once and boom he decides to work for a different king. The deleted scene definitely explains a lot more.

You are right that it "explained" a lot more but I got this already from watching the movie. I understood where Wakabi was coming from on my first and only watch of Black Panther. I think they did a good job but it seems everybody is not on the same page on reading character motivations. It really bothered me that people didn't like Daniel's character or get why he turned. Basically, Killmonger did for him in a moment what he had been waiting 30 years for T'chaka and T'challa to do along with their empty promises.

There were enough moments in the movie that you could gather that he found himself in more philosophical agreement with Killmonger, T'Challa when compared to Killmonger was more passive than he would've liked. I hope part two can deal with the aftermath of their relationship, as well as his with Akoye.
@tifflthom6 жыл бұрын
He pretty much told us in the film. He trusted T’Challa to bring Klaw to Wakandan justice and he didn’t. He felt T’Challa was going down his father’s path and he wanted something more radical. “If you wanted me and my men to go out and clean up the world, I’d be all for it.”

Though I loved the movie, cutting the scene between Okeye and W'kabi was a mistake. Maybe because of the hype of the film, I never picked up they were married, I thought they were simply dating or lovers. The dialogue at 4:55 alone gives so much background on them. The mention of kids tells us they have probably been in this marriage for long enough to consider offspring and adds complexity, they've gone as far as to discuss Okeye leaving the dora milaje- this might even be another point of conflict. The final fight between both of them would have had more tension and made more sense, giving their developed history and W'kabi's explained anger. Real shame but I love Black Panther anyway

that W'kabi scene should've been in the theatre release. I know why they'd cut the other stuff, but this one? It's kinda necessary tbh. It adds a bit of depth into his character, and explains why he'd switch over to Killmonger's side instantly. I mean, we can conclude the why he did that without this scene, but this scene makes it more believable. Also, it shows us the relationship between him and Okoye, and imo this makes that dialogue at the end even more impactful.

We had so much hope of this project growing bigger with chadwick, but now after his death we come to view every piece out there of him as the black panther, its all we got now. Just goes to prove you never really appreciate something fully until its gone. I know the character will remain and may be reprised but its originality, genuinity and success was brought by the rare characteristics chawick brought to life by his unique speach delivery and image. Thanks to God you succesfully did this project in the midist of your own 4 year life battle. RIP King. #Wakanda forever. Love from Namibia.

Child T'Challa & Nakia scene should've been kept. To see a present, loving, strong Black father who is revered by his child as a man & leader is very important. To see how his father teaches him about kingship & how that shapes him later as a man & king is vital.It also makes Nakia's bond with T'Challa more real. I ❤ the scene with Okoye & W'Kabi b/c the acting was excellent, it adds more substance to W'Kabi's betrayal of T'Challa. With the Me Too movement & hyper feminism, some critics today likely wouldn't have been able to look past her submission to his yelling & obstinate (domineering insistence) that his way was the ONLY (best) way for their future as a country & as a couple. Critics could've used the scene to make this movie about something entirely senseless. I see the scene & sympathize with Okoye's internal struggle, to choose between loyalty to her husband & loyalty to her country. The confrontation they're having is only natural, & it makes their marriage more real & Okoye's loyalty even more profound when she ultimately decides to stand with T'Challa. Coogler & the cast all did an AMAZING job. I can't wait for Black Panther 2.

Hey! Your point was definitely valid because after Wakanda Forever that was my question, how close was T'challa and Nakia in the first black panther. It makes sense now

Honestly, the sequel for black panther has so much potential that can’t be explored in infinity wars because we can finally get to see the fallout between T’Challa’s decision to reveal Wakanda to the rest of the world. For a king, no decision no matter how good and well meaning is without consequences and fallout. And while this may benefit the rest of the world, does it truly benefit Wakanda and black people in general for Wakanda to do this? I feel like after looking at this video, that this is the direction that it needs to go in.

The Wakabi and Okoye scene was important man, it added to who Wakabi was and helped the audience better understand why he sided with Killmonger. 😧 Also, Ross was wishing T'Challa luck and blessings in that scene (he got it right in isiXhosa)...not shoelaces. Those subtitles were off and misleading- glad that scene was deleted...let's respect the languages we borrow, joke or not.

I agree but that scene would have been even better if Okaye didn't hug him back or even if she would have walked away. It would have shown, she stuck by what she said & believed.

tray4168 Whites did bring some modernity to Africa. But many countries were dismantled because of whites and they have yet to fully recover. Whose to say if they were left alone they wouldn't have built and achieved a lot? Regardless, plenty to of African countries are quite developed and in peace. I've noticed that any pro-African comments attract hate and ill-will.
@quiquithomas65926 жыл бұрын
tray4168 AFRICA is continent. Outsiders stole and destroyed the Continent after they learned from the natives. History is full of lies. Stealing which white rulers did as well as divide, belonging crooked missiinairies, destroyed. It didn't make the Continent better. Stop sounding ignorant, history is full of lies, white washed. Apparently white culture failed you because you are ignorant. You do not even know your own culture. 😅😅

ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS MOVIE COULD'VE BEEN NEARLY 7 MINUTES LONGER! Although I understand, during editing, the creators of films always have a constant overview and reminder regarding the audiences attention. Some of these scene really do a great job of fleshing out some of the characters more especially Kaluuyas character.
