That problem with the elbows was also present in the Disney+ She-Hulk figure. A very strong negative point in an otherwise beautiful and well done figure.

Pretty unrelated to the review but I like the fact that Secret Invasion and the Marvels are both releasing this year. Although they’re both focusing on different stories and characters, I really hope that there’s some solid connections or references to each. Fury and the Skrulls have mentioned Carol in multiple scenes and Fury and Carol both return in the Marvels, but the timeline is what we don’t know yet. This new Marvel figure will look good with the new Fury Secret Invasion that was leaked and Skrull figures that were released years ago

I dunno man, the new one's face nails Brie's likeness so much better than any of the others you showed than I can't imagine getting too mad about the softness aspect. That said, IDGAF about gummy Legends figures, I'll stick to SHF or Medicom versions, hopefully one of them will do this version because while the most plain costume to date, I'm strangely digging it.

I think the vertical hinge gripping hand is for the villains weapon(the one that looks like Ronin’s) and the villain will come out later like MOM Wanda

I didn’t like the new look at first because it looks more casual rather that a uniform fit for combat but tbh it’s really grown on me. I just hope the Mohawk helmet comes back in the film but I really doubt it tbh

I really like your reviews, especially the comparisons section. I also have all the Captain Marvel releases and I think this one is by far the best face sculpt of all of them. Brie has kind of a wide face, and this is the first time they've really gotten the proportions right. The entire body's proportions are more realistic in this sculpt as well. I agree it's not the flashiest of her uniforms (I like the metallic design better), but as an overall figure (sans elbow joints), this is definitely the best work Hasbro's done for this character. I agree Monica's figure is just a little bit better, but I'm really happy with both of them. This is the first set of MCU figures I've pre-ordered since dropping $200 on the complete Eternals lineup, and regardless of how the movie does (I'm fairly optimistic at this point) these are standout figures (unlike the Eternals wave).

I love the red suit with the short hair from Endgame. Second, I like the suit from the first movie. It's a very good adaptation of the original look. And finally, the second suit she wears in the trailer, inspired by Phyla-Vell's look in the comics. This suit is not ugly, but it is the least interesting of all, for me. She looks like a cop or something. I don't like cops. The way they made the figure doesn't help much either. Anyway, I like Brie Larson and I'm in love with Teyonah Parris. Ms. Marvel is also a pretty cool character, even if the series started well and went off the rails in a bizarre way. I had the feeling that from the third episode there was a very sudden change of plans and unfortunately everything that happens in Pakistan was very out of tune and confused. But the actress is good and has a lot of charisma. I think it will be a good movie.

I think in the trailer it shows Carol grabbing the weapon of the villain, so maybe that's what the gripping fist is meant for? Wouldn't be surprised if it's rereleased in some "final duel" 2 pack with the villain of the film.

The villain of The Marvels is named Dar-Benn and I think she's the Kree's new accuser after Ronan.

I definitely think this new figure is an overall improvement, but a swappable mohawk/helmet head would have been great, as well as a bit more red (not the figures fault). And those elbow and knee pieces are odd, because I don't think the female GOTG3 figs had that issue.

Sorry to sound like a know it all but as soon as you put the helmeted head on the body and I heard a loud pop I knew as soon as you take it off the pegs gonna snap or pop out with the head 😂

I think that hand may be for when they do a Dar-Ben figure. With the Accuser Hammer. Maybe Carol wields it at some point.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to compare your observations with samples of my own collection as my figures are currently under mitigation. Just off the bat, they nailed the face and especially the eyes. Brie Larson's eyes are hard and sharp...or soft and liquid depending on what she wants to convey, but ALWAYS dark brown. On many of the Captain Marvel figures I own they tend to tint the eyes near amber- it tends to throw the other colorations off.🤔 I agree on the knee/elbow joints but you must admit the ugliness is most apparent when you put the figure into the ugliest poses.🫣 I think the new outfit looks sharp though. 😊

I saw an early test screening of The Marvels and …… yeah it’s not good. Like you, I actually liked the “Captain Marvel” movie and Carol Danvers is even more likable in this new movie than she has been so far, but the movie itself is one of the weaker MCU movies, the plot isn’t very good, the villain is awful, the team dynamic between the three marvels is not really there and the movie just feels rushed overall. Ironically the musical planet segment is one of the best parts because it was at least unique and pretty funny and the three of them swapping places while fighting (though inconsistent in terms of when it would happen) actually made for some neat fight scenes but overall the movie just feels like a glorified Disney + special or something, just some cringey humor, weak plot, no real obstacles for the characters to overcome (other than a bit at the end) hopefully the final version is better (but unlike you I hope they keep the musical number because that part was the only interesting thing in the movie, well that and the Flerkins)
