Only thing that came to mind was Spiderman: Reign. Peter is old, retired as spiderman years ago, has a broken arm, and is pretty sick; coughing up blood sick. He's also suffering from sever PTSD, seeing and interacting with visions of a long dead MJ. Dude throws on the mask and takes on Scorpion, Electro, Mysterio, Kraven, Hydro-Man, Sandman, and Venom. If a retired Peter Parker spiderman is capable of that, I entirely doubt a peak-prime Miles could ever hope to stand toe to toe with a peak-prime Peter Parker.

The problem here is that Peter never fully accepted "The Spider." He suppresses the spider to a great extent because he is afraid of what it might become. Despite this, he can do all this and still pull back his punches. We saw what he could become if he fully accepted the spider, when he changed his shell and was resurrected after being killed by Morlun. We saw a very, very small piece and it was magnificent. In fact, that version of Peter should have been the real "Superior Spiderman", with a well-written dark, harsh, cold story. Madame Web said that Peter was the center of the universal web. (I can't remember if it's in the animated series or the comics.) Long story short, "he is The One". Every other Spider-Man exists because Peter exists.

Peter still wins because he holds back a lot of extra powers, unlike miles which has shown some such as the bio-electricity sword. Kane being his clone and showing that he has stingers, representing that Peter also has that ability and more if he just embraces the spider. And he’s so powerful even while holding back. Nowadays, alternate versions of Spider-Man essentially have all of Peter’s abilities, and then some more. If I remember right, originally, Mile’s spider sense was a last second warning (giving him less time to react), and Miguel had/has no spider sense at all. But most times the writers will want to give Peter the win, especially given most times them fighting is just to prevent something bad from happening which Peter will probably be on the right side of more often than not given his experience. I think I do actually have nostalgia for the notion of spiderman having many iterations, clones etc. To me that kinda story conceit is something I've always associated with spiderman... again, due to growing up... really the clone saga was my introduction to comic books lol. I understand why you would hate it, but I think that it allows creative freedom to writers in the future without tarnishing the name or reputation of the original. The real problem with legacy characters is they aren't allowed to be what they should. They are ment to be the next in line and take over after the former hero dies or cannot fight anymore, but we don't want to get rid of our old characters. I think ones like Spider-Man 2099 work best, when time separates them by so much the character can actually be themselves and both show what makes them unique and still be the new version of the classic. Also the Batfam is not really something that "diminishes the character of Batman" they have been there to some degree since the beginning. Robin was in Batman number 1. The Green Lantern Corp is closer to diminishing than the Batfam, and that is saying something.

From my point of view, Miles has mostly been in the area of trying to break out of being a sidekick / apprentice. His stories are all about breaking out, finding his own way, finding his destiny, and he's always under / beside other Spider-Men/Women. A trope of Spider-Man as a character is to be vulnerable and need help from others. But Miles so much more. It's who he is - the struggle of breaking free of needing others. So of course Peter would easily beat him up. And this is because he is young, brash, and not a genius level intellect character. But he is basically Spider-Man with additional lightning and stealth abilities. If the roles were reversed (with Peter Parker filling the burgeoning apprentice role and Miles filling the elder master role) Miles could absolutely be viewed as more powerful, depending on how his other abilities have developed of course, but as the elder, he'd clobber Peter. The Spidey bite + human genes makes them ALL strong and fast, and mostly all of the Spideys pull their punches, so it's kind of moot to compare their strength and speed. A Spider-Man vs Spider-Man armwrestle would just last forever. Anyone seriously claiming one would beat the other isn't thinking things through and they're just fanboying xD

Correction, miles is not as strong as peter when they were roughly the same age. During the If this be my destiny story, Peter was crushed underground by a machine that was supporting the weight of the lab underwater. That machine has been weighed to be around a 128 tons, and if you account for the additional water resistance from the entire ocean, peter was somehow doing Savage hulk level lifts when he was around 17. people are forgetting that peter has tech/suits that he has created and upgraded that have some of the same abilities that miles got, as well as much more. it would not take much for him to create some tech that cancels miles bioelectrical abilities or counters them. he has a suit that can manipulate sound and light, which can make him invisible and cancel sound tech. this could also possibly be adjusted to disrupt miles invisibility (light altering) ability. peters intelligence and experience both give him a greater edge than any additional abilities give miles.

Miles was met with a lot of backlash in his book, but he was given a chance he's continued to this day proven he's earned. Peter might be smarter and could probably set a trap for miles but we're talking about a straight up fight miles beats Peter in a straight up fight I'm sorry too say Also let's not forget Tombstone had Peter begging for his life you act like he can't take a L and not to mention "Paul" the biggest Spider-Man L of the century... but I guess I don't know what I'm talking about🙄

@@Daverast01 Miles does have the better moveset, but Peter still has way more feats of strength and speed. Maybe miles will surpass him in the future, but as of right now, his abilities aren't enough to give him an edge.
