After doing some research, this is EXACTLY what he looks like in the one episode he's in, in the Fantastic Four Animated Series. With the red forearms and boots, also with the red batons. It's weird, it's almost as if they modeled him off of that cartoon and not the Spider-Man series!!

Pretty obvious why the cel shading stops on the forearms and calves. That's where the gloves and boots start. The lack of deco is meant to imply that they are a different material from the suit and, therefore, light reflects differently off of them. I like the deco. It's perhaps a little light on DD's back though...

Considering they’ve done a normal one in the bullseye & Electra 3-pack and now the cell shaded version in a 2-pack… I doubt a single release is coming, I expect a Defenders 4 pack with updated Luke Cage, New iron first, Jessica Jones & A newly redeco renew your vows daredevil before we get a single release

@@D.A.I.K.I. You’re probably right. Don’t know why Hasbro has no love for us DD fans. But I would buy an updated Defenders 4 pack provided all the characters were given good representation.

They could also do a Spider-Man: TAS accurate Mysterio, Madame Web, Beyonder, Harry Osborn, or a Flash Thompson. 6:01 In Fantastic Four: TAS, his forearms and lower legs weren't shaded. And with his billy club being red in that show, they likely used the wrong image of animated Daredevil off of Google. Probably didn't want to paint all the hands too. I think the belt and holster should've been left unshaded.

He looks like he’s straight out of certain comics, lots of artists draw DD with shadows on his costume but boots and gloves are red

Here is a thought for hasbro if they decide to do a punisher from the 90s cartoon give him a cloth goods trench coat the plastic on will not be very articulable and will leave a lot on the table for what could have been done

We're definitely getting a VHS punisher in the next one or after. The vhs two packs follow a theme for the waves. First one was 1 villain and 1 civilian. Now i noticed its one superhero that cameod in the series and 1 villain. Punisher is absolutely coming. My bet is Punisher/Vulture two pack with his old and young heads. Then Blade and Chameleon. Wave 3 will also have a theme which i predict with 1 Spidey variant and 1 civilian. My predictions for that are Man Spider and Norman Osborn, Regular Animated Spidey on RYV body and Felecia Hardy, Battle Damaged Spidey and Eddie Brock, and finally, which i 100% think we'll see no matter what: Spider Carnage and Uncle Ben

I really like the DD. Honestly I'd almost want this to be a black figure with red highlights. But i really like the setcht cross hatching even if its not actually what the show did. If they could give Cyclops or Scarlet Spider a similiar treatment I'd love it. Though I still think the animated series characters were bigger and the Vulcan body would be more appropriate for like Spidey

I looked up DD in Spider-Man TAS, and he did have the red batons some times. He also had the white sometimes. I guess Hasbro just went with the red.

I really think daredevil should’ve been put on the new Vulcan body. Maybe in the future with some white wrist wraps and caps red combat boots but that’s just a dream. I really think the renew your vows body needs to be the go to spidey buck and daredevil should be a little bigger on the Vulcan body. Paint is great on this figure tho.

Great video and I'm glad that I got my set yesterday. I still like to see a Punisher and Blade the vampire hunter 2pack. I know there's lots of animated Spiderman series. Also I like to see the other figures for the AntMan wave since they did the Haslab Giant-Man. Again, keep up the great work!

As much as I want a Man-Spider, I can't see Hasbro doing it justice after the cash in dud of 6 arm spidey. This line seems to be more repaint dominant. Blade would be a good one though it was a little weird he wasn't with Morbius. Blue Punisher could be neat. But beyond that I can't think of anyone that isn't redudant now. Capt America could work but Iron Man and Warmachine are basically the same as figures we've already gotten. X-men or Fantastic Four I guess too

Like someone said, the figure should be opposite, the figure should be dark plastic, then the red paint should be the apps. And in the case of Hydroman, doesn't need that at all.

Lost interest in the SM animated figs. Everyone griped about the X-Men figs,so they removed all shading. Combine that with more simplistic sculpts for cartoon characters, and most have too much Fisher Price vibe. Daredevil here, great idea, stupid-looking execution, IMO, for the reasons you stated and others, like the massive difference in paint front vs back. Hydro-Man, just not a fan at all of the face, just like with the weird human face they put on the previous one. But, saving money and space!

Sets like this really make me hate Hasbro. A figure you want coupled with one you don’t for $50. It seems like they also don’t want to release a decent comic accurate DD as a single figure. I’m talking his traditional red costume not that misfire of a ninja figure that came out a few months ago. And even if they released this figure individually I’d probably still not buy it. That cell shading is wretched. They should recreate the shading on this DD bust I saw recently. Much more balanced.
