Even though I don't have the RETRO Fantastic Four figures in hand, I gotta say that HASBRO nailed the designs on these because the figures represent the John Byrne look and since the Walgreen's exclusive s are very pricey on the after market I'm still getting the new ones.

@@Xmanny87 That is understandable. I grew up with the 1990's cartoon and that is the one that was around when I first saw the characters. I started reading the comics in the early 2000s and the went back to Black and Blue and that really clicked with me. I wish I could have gotten the Walgreens figures when I had the chance, but these recent versions come with a lot of cool features. I also like the head sculpt of this Thing more than the one Walgreens had. I think it's Arthur Adams inspired.

I only kept the Mr. Fantastic for the lab coat and the invisible woman and returned the rest. I understand why people loved the retro coloring and although the retro came on a superior buck, I don't have that the necessary nostalgia so I kitbashed my Walgreens Johnny and just like him better. My depowered is the Super Skrull Johnny so I cancelled the preorder for the hasbro pulse Johnny too. I was thinking of using the super skull head on the sue, because I used the super skull sue to make a Valeria Richards but then I thought I was getting invisible Sue so Retro go back. I will use the Reed body to custom an older Franklin. Great video. I have to say I almost want to get Johnny for the spidey 2099 mold but isn't the depowered Super Skrull Johnny on the s2099?

Yup. They’re on the same body. So totally up to you if you want it or not. Personally for me, I always want matching Fantastic Four teams. So I’ll get all the versions they make of them.

Thing - Walgreens Reed - Walgreens with Retro Lab Coat Johnny - Walgreens with every flame effect from SuperSkrull and a couple of others added. Depowered Super Skrull because Johnny likes making Ben feel confused Sue - Retro invisible body (yeah, got mine yesterday) with Walgreens head attached I see your want to match but for a Baby collector like me I only really want one FF but don't get wrong, if I could swing it i would add the Mezco to my collection as one set. Otherwise what's the point...lol

How about a deluxe blue and white costume Mr. Fantastic or an accessory set featuring an alternate headsculpt with grinning teeth, a long bendy wire neck, a long bendy wire torso that can rapp around other figures, a pear of long arms with removable large fist and large open hands but, other than that, The Thing wearing his blue and white muscle shirt and long tights and white boots with the mask alternate headsculpt, a classic Cain The Conqueror, Moldman, Puppet Master, Impossibleman, and the rest of the Inhumans including Lockjaw.

Use the Emma Frost head sculpt, probably the best blond head sculpt to date. You have two to choose from although the hair styles are not quite Sue Storm. Very cool pics at the end of your video!👏👏👏👏👏

Excellent review of the team, bro...! Possibly the best version of the team, flaws & all, aside from the issues you mentioned... I have the Walgreens versions of these guys, including a powered down/powering up custom I did of Johnny using an extra v1 (Wg) Reed & v2 (S. Skrull wave) Johnny head, with flame bits... So I definitely appreciate those guys quite a bit too. (I'm planning to paint the extra Reed extendo arms to use with this version also...) I'm trying to decide WHICH version of the team I really like the MOST all-around for display, so I can maybe get rid of 2 sets... It's proving to be a difficult decision as each set has its pros & cons...🤔🤔🤔 I was glad to get the High Evolutionary, and even though his size didn't bother me that much... I think Mr. Sinister size would have been a good direction to go... While Psycho-Man isn't particularly a "must-have" villain for ME, he's an awesome looking figure, I JUST wish his hands were more functional with utilizing his control box... Figures I'd like to see in another FF retro wave... Great review Manny! The black suit versions were my first Marvel Legends wave. They were ok, and I was a little underwhelmed, but these versions are 🔥. I've been looking at them in package for 2 weeks. Time to bust these bad boys and girl outta their prisons. I'm going to apply a wash to Ben and swap Sue's face out.

I look at the Finster in Lightning Collection and can totally see Puppet Master with his tiny F4 to control the Four. Firelord! Come on. Do another Retro wave in the Fall 2022 and include that much desired herald. Wizard. Paste Pot Pete/Trapster. She-Hulk all F4’d up. I tell you I have so many wants. Mole Man and some freakin’ moloids. I’d be okay with Ghost Rider, Hulk, Wolverine, and Spidey repaints in the F4 uniforms. Namorita. Impossible Man. Valeria. Dragon Man. They could have four new Fantastic Four retro waves and still not run out of characters.

They used the AoA Rouge body because that was the body that was already being used in the factory. These were made at the same time that AoA was getting made. Same reason Venom ended up with the holes in his shoulders. They were making Omega Red at around the same time. Cost cutting and time saving, it's what Hasbro does even if it makes the figure worse.

Imma be honest with all the fantastic four team figures Mr fantastic almost perfect needed the stretchy arm effect of the Walgreens one The thing basically perfect. Johnny storm de powered almost perfect but the blue being off is annoying Johnny flame on also basically perfect Sue storm the body is great but the ports and the head are ew also not many cool accessories. Also I’d add the marvel select human torch effects to the marvel legends one it’d look sick

Literally the first thing I did when I got these was to swap Sue's head - and I don't mean get another Sue head to pop in there, I got an extra Rogue head removed the hair from both and made me a 'new' Sue head. And it's good to know powered down Johnny doesn't match the blue. I got 2 Reed figured to use one as Johnny and when they got here I wasn't sure but now I am. By the way: where you got the Fantasticar? Absolutely loved it!! 😍😍

That Sue head looks ok in a certain angle...yeah the back of the head is ok.😁 The body she's on is rubbish. Barely any torso articulation. Elbows only bend 90° and if it's like the Super Skrull baf wave Sue, then the knees will warp. Annihilus and Dragon Man as deluxe/baf figs. Attuma would be cool or even Basilisk. I like that Thing has fists and open hands plus two head sculpts. Great overview X-Manny.🙂🙂🙂

The retro collection invincible woman is definitely one of the worst marvel legends of 2021 as they used an outdated body mold as they should’ve used the shriek body mold and it has one of the worst head sculpts of all time on a marvel legends figure

I just hate the 'Pizza Spidey' body mold. I wish Hasbro would just retire that ugly body mold already. It's so 2015 & 2016. Those ugly duck-like feet are terrible, too.
