Shuri became black panther for a little bit in the comics, and something else she wasnt chosen in the comics. I hate when people say she became black panther in the comics a rewrote comics ok when did they create shuri in the comics what year do you know, and when the comic book did not sell they put the king back in the suit go read a comic book instead of listening to other people drop the mic lol.

so what i have heard is although the black panther is female it is not in current time, meaning what we see are flashbacks to the time of the snap. in those 5 years another black panther was assigned because both Shuri and TChala had been snapped. could be the queen or actress Lupita as the Black P during the snap years

I was impressed that the wave came out without another Black Panther figure. We have gotten way to many already. But I gotta admit that this one is pretty cool. I'm guessing that they didn't release this one with the wave because it would have a bit of a Spoiler and in this day and age of social media, surprises are becoming increasingly rare. Either way, I'm excited for the movie and figures. And on a personal note, I'm hopeful that they recast Tchalla. Not because Chadwick wasn't great but because his legacy needs to continue. Bond has been played by so many great actors. Superman, Batman and even Spiderman have multiple actors. And my strongest argument is the Joker. Heath Ledger died from being that character and won an award for it and they recast that character as well. So let's continue to remember how fantastic Chadwick Bozeman was and keep that character going strong.

I don't get why they're so touchy about recasting Black Panther, it's not like the character was as important as Iron Man or Cap and Chadwick Boseman didn't really do anything that was out of this world with him either, he was at his best in Civil War, in his own movie he just came off as an idiot fumbling around and he's just there in Infinity War and Endgame. Not a lot of content to be so gatekeep-y over really. It's like the characters themselves will outlast the actors playing them, eventually they need to be recasted.

I was going to be pissed but then I realized it was just really stiff. Of course Shuri makes the most sense for MULTIPLE reasons, EXCEPT Okoye in the context of the movie makes the most sense if they want to break from the comics. She's established as an incredible fighter, and is VERY popular with movie fans.

Eventually Black Panther will be recasted, like Spiderman, Batman, etc have been portrayed by many different actors. But it might not be until the MCU starts rebooting characters. They might also do a Black Panther from a different universe with a different actor.

It would seem incredibly odd not the make Shuri.....the Black Panther in the comics, the Black Panther. Honestly I see this like the Khan, Blofeld, and Arkham Knight thing. There's zero reason to hide it. If it's not Shuri then the family was never important. Wakanda's protector should probably be a member of the royal family. Why is she smack dab in the center of the poster? Looks nice but when the lead character of the film/line has very subpar articulation, I find that just terrible. She's likely going to be quite athletic and the figure just can't do it. The soft plastic issue really is all over the place in the last year. Same mold and you find one figure descended from Gummy and the others are hard as rocks.

I like the figure I want to get it and add it to my collection. But for me the way how hasbro is doing it with they’re phase 4 movies and shows they’re really lacking on some figures of characters that have different looks like Thor and falcon for instance. Why haven’t they revealed Thor in his movie accurate look in love and thunder without the sleeves and helmet along with falcon in his red and white comic book suit in fatws. A year later still waiting on that and of course doctor strange. Hated the the new look of the figure and how they made it with the cape since they changed it and doesn’t even have a peg for it to stick in the back. Honestly I just want hasbro to make these figures already

The new Black Panther looks awesome, i was also thinking it could be Shuri but time will tell obviously, so yeah the figure looks nice for sure. Side note: can't say I'm excited for Quantunmania, but i am interested on Wakanda Forever the more i look at these figures and previews that's for sure and it might sound crazy but i am usually picky when it comes to what new MCU stuff I'll be into and what not really, like how i was for Multiverse of madness, Moon Knight, She-Hulk (kinda lol) and so on.
