I probably would have picked this figure up if the extra hands were two thwipping hands, because that to me is something every Spidey should come with unless there’s a good reason why it doesn’t. I absolutely would want the wall-crawling hands, too, but if they say we can only have one extra pair of hands to go along with his fisted hands, then I would take the thwipping hands without hesitation. But the fact that they decided to go this route is just plain stupid. Edit: there’s a possibility that I may pick this guy up later when he inevitably goes on sale, because the figure itself is okay. What he comes with, is not.

I guess from my point of view this is all about perspective. I only got into collecting Marvel Legends in November 2022 and I got into it after seeing pictures of the Cel Shaded Retro Venom and I just had to collect the whole Retro Cardback figures, so over the last few months I've been hunting them all down, some figures cost me about $55 some $130, I almost have them all with the last one to go being Kingpin, and it doesn't look like ill get it for anything less than $100,. So for me this new PS5 Spider-Man will actually be one of the cheaper figures I have gotten, the only other one cheaper than this for me was Hammerhead ($19) and Shocker ($21). Price is something we can always debate but what I really don't understand is the decision of the hands. Every other almost all other spidermen have the same basic red hands with black webbing, so if you have a set you can use them on multiple spider-men. Why is this figure, that has exceptionally unique hands not have the whole set?

I was contemplating on buying this figure since I had the first one but the price and the lack of sculpted details kinda hit the nail on the coffin for me. Miles got way better treatment but my boy Peter? shafted. Hasbro could potentially redo this figure down the line once the game releases. Like imagine this; a 6 inch Marvel's Spider-Man with sculpted details, all the hands and hell, throw in a John Bubniak or Ben Jordan head to please both fans of the original and remastered and BAM, ultimate cash grab.

Price really is the big reason this figure is so hated. I think it’d be (barely) tolerated at $25.But at $35? What are you really getting? A reused mold that has a surface level resemblance to the source material, incomplete accessories, and a bunch of webs that have been released several times before. And then you just compare it to the competition and it’s just comes off as a huge rip off.

Based from the pics, it seems that the new Marvel Legends has the color scheme of the first PS4 suit. It has the orangey red and light blue. If I am not mistaken, the new game has a darker red and blue. So the first Marvel Legends PS4 Spidey is closer to the correct color scheme. Not to mention the weblines are not sculpted. I think they dropped the ball on this. Miles already has the template of a perfect Spiderman figure. They could have just followed that. 😢

It's a good rant for worthy of the first part of the video for sure!! after the initial batch of releases, they probably already made up the tooling cost for this body mold. At minimum all Spider-man should come with 3 sets of hands. Isn't those web accessories re-use too? charging basically $10 over what is already $25 with zero accessories for most releases are ridiculous when those hands are also re-use. Say what you will with Bandai's SHF or other import Spider-mans; at least with their figures, they always come with multiple sets of hands, eyes, and web accessories along with detailed & sharp sculpts. The SHF PS4 Spider-man also only had a original msrp around $50-55 USD (converted). I rather have 1 high quality figure than multiple figures that simply lacks accessories, sculpted details, and paint that people really want.

Honestly, if they do eventually make a unique sculpt for Spider-Man, don't buy it. This figure should have been the ultimate Spidey for fans of the game with all the bells and whistles Miles got, they pay attention to this stuff and still under delivered, big time.

I'm getting this because I missed the last one and got it with a couple £ off but the lack of sculpt on the suit sucks. Lack of hands is a joke, the blue needs to be darker and the red needs to be slightly darker aswell. But other than that I like the articulation and the overall style of this suit and I think it's better than the last one. Overall I don't regret getting this but I wish they would step it up abit. I mean the price is awful for a kids toy and the product is awful for an adult collectable. They need to pick one or the other and go for it 😅

The price for this is outrageous for just a reuse body with less hands than normal and a new head. They should have the butterfly joints be molded in red and painted on the blue. I don’t think that the red & blue is accurate should have the same shades of the original ps4 version of the figure, have all the hands, all the web accessories (exclude the flat ones if you wanna). I wonder if they’ll do the same with their Spider-Man 2 miles as well, since his suit is different from his game.

The description on this figure is HORRIBLE it suggests that Peter’s entire reason for being a character is to train a replacement. If they go this way in the game making Peter unable to exist without Miles glued to his hip and eventually getting replaced by Miles people will be VERY pissed. You don’t do that crap to Spider-Man.

The problem with the body the used is its too short and bulky for the game version of Pete. Had they done a more accurate and unique sculpt this figure would be so much better. The only good thing about it is the headsculpt and the eyes, everything else is a huge disappointment

I mean all you gotta do is look at the sh figuarts naruto to see how much money you are wasting with this new spider man. 5 faces, 4 pairs of hands, a kunai, a rasengan and some cross arms. Not to mention it’s a completely new sculpt. All of that for $35. While this spider man comes with 3 old reused and out dated web effects, a pair of fists, a thwip hand, a wall crawling hand and that’s it. And the only new part of the body is the head. All that for $36. Not gonna say y’all shouldn’t get the stuff you want but it does sadden me seeing people waste their money on subpar products like these.

@@smithbeentrill price will always skew the perception of quality. If you pay 4 bucks for a Big Mac, you may think it's a pretty good burger. If you then have to pay 10 bucks for the same burger, you may think the burger is trash. The quality of the burger is the same, but your perception of quality will change. This is also linked to how much disposable income you have available. If you've got all the money in the world, the price of things doesn't change your perception of quality much. However, if you are like most people and your income has not increased while your buying power has decreased your perception of quality changes. If this figure was 24.99 no o. Would say it was trash. If it was 19.99 it would be adored. If it was Toy Biz Era prices at 8 bucks it would be considered a masterpiece these days.

Oh Good Lord look at both those shoulder to bicep pegs gaped and loose. That gummy plastic peg gonna bend and come off in time. My Agony flavored bubble gums right bicep peg broke nearly immediately out of the wrapper. Plus he doesn't come with complete set of hands. I probably wouldn't even get him on sale knowing he'll just break. It's funny.... I buy 2018 Marvel Legends off Ebay (Sabretooth + Wolverine from Apocalypse BAF, Lasher, Scream, Colossus, Jubilee etc.) and they feel nearly indestructible under normal circumstances but these new figures aren't gonna make it long with shit gummy plastic. I'd bet the original Gamestop version will hold up to time better than the new one based on better plastic alone.

I love Spider-Man I love Spider-Man figures from Hasbro, but could they at least do the attention to detail to the suit that saw the suit does not look that plain in the game even our miles morales figure from the last game looks way better than this as far as detail and texture, but other than that, the articulation is so good I love my renew your vows, Spider-Man, great video keep up the good work
