I don't have the Hasbro Pulse sign up, But to be honest, I will try to get this XTAS Mystique, Jean Grey, Cyclops, and Jubilee to use for my Jim Lee comic X-MEN display despite them all having self shading because in the show, They have have both Jim Lee and classic designs from the comics, Fantastic review overall Dan.

Overall my sentiments remain the same. The cell shaded figures aren't executing that idea well. Then them pushing them as animated versions is misleading as they haven't taken the steps. The controversy with this figure just highlights how limited the female body mold is in comparison to all the male bodies. It's the plastic Hasbro has been using. It's not just the design or the packaging but the plastic. Some same body mold on older figures are rock solid. For some reason Hasbro has been using a really soft plastic

I echo the soft plastic concern. I picked up the first appearance Spider-Man and he felt so gummy like he was going to pull apart at every joint. It also had crappy paint apps and mistakes all over the figure. I returned it immediately, and I’m going to chill on more Hasbro stuff for a while unless it hits clearance.

I just want Hasbro to make: Vanguard, Charlie 27, Nikki, Starhawk, Aleta and the Original Yondu along with Gorgon, Crystal, Triton and Karnak and maybe Corsair, Hepzibah, Raza and Ch'od with these Villians: U-Foes, Salem Seven, Wrecking Crew and the Frightful Four

She needs to have a better face sculp🤦‍♂️...and why couldn't they updated her body to the newer female mold with the pinless double-joints....I really want a Mystique, but not this repaint of an old mold

Hasbro is really getting over with the comic figures period. Re-release/Reuse/Repaints. Minimal to no sculpt on the bodies. smh MCU figures are sucking up most of the original sculpt budget…. but then plenty of them end up peg warmers. Kinda sucks for Comic Fig Collectors. 🫤

All these vhs figures look bad to me. For the price hike, not so great paint, reuse out the butt (no new retooling), and cheap plastic, hasbro is ripping people off.

I am super tempted by this because Mystique is a huge hole in my collection and VHS Jubilee looks solid in my comic. However, Mystique deserves the new female body, so I'm gonna wait and see.

All you really need is any random female body with a face painted half blue. The Walgreens version had an extra Rogue head painted half blue.

One thing I can suggest is you can display these figures next to the what if figures, Animated spider-man and into the spider-verse figures. Even though they’re not in the same universe. Just a suggestion, that’s all.

Mystique has always been a favorite character of mine but in hindsight that's messed up sending baby Kurt down the river like that but him being a mutant and all I can see why she didn't leave him at the firehouse or orphanage doorstep

I'm surprised that they can't maybe use the AoA rogues legs instead of these as they're painless and I think different to the shriek legs

I guess collectors are willing to settle for whatever Hasbro gives them... such a shame. If folks just held off on purchasing terrible figures from Hasbro then they'd fix all the issues. No excuse...$30 dollars for a bad re-use mold lol

Do you keep saying “sow shading”? 😱😂 Are we sure that baby isn’t Baby Luke mold from Star Wars? 😂🖖 Is the head skull on the head mold or part of the hair? It does appear the new head skull has fangs, the Walgreens does not? Not as sure about the eyebrows, as both are painted on. LMAO at the “morphing” gag before Braddock wallops her! 😂 Final turnaround, I can’t help but notice the white peeking thru on lower legs in pin holes. Are both torso pieces also white with blue-grey paint or in blue with white paint? I’m still kinda preferring the Walgreens version, so not too concerned if I never see this one.

The cel-shaded Marvel Legends line is straight garbage. I bought none of them and I will not, even if they happen to go on deep clearance. They are actively bad, but even worse- they represent a half-ass attempt at doing something that could have been truly special- and now we won’t get the truly special animated figures with unique sculpts and proper line work and cel shading in 1/12th scale. If they had Mondo-level paint design and line work in 1/12th scale, I would have happily paid $40 for every one. But this crap? I wouldn’t display them if I got them for free.
