I’ve played Overwatch almost daily since 2016, even as 90% of my friends quit after Overwatch 2’s switch to 5v5. I stayed, despite hating the game, because nothing else felt like Overwatch. I wasn’t into battle royales or tactical shooters like Rainbow Six or Valorant. Then a friend gave me a key for the Marvel Rivals playtest, and it felt like 2016 all over again. I haven’t touched Overwatch since dec 6th. The fact that Blizzard lost a hardcore fan like me speaks volumes about Marvel Rivals.

My wife and I played overwatch since the beta, dozens of daily friends on our friends list, payed in the triple digits for loot boxes just so I could help in some small way to fund the production, etc. It's honestly sad how far the game has fallen and how quickly rivals was able to fill that gap

I played overwatch since the beta, then I saw the Marvel rivals teaser, and I knew I HAD to try it After struggling to get a key, I finally got in, and it was amazing then the beta ended, and I had to play overwatch for 5 excruciating months where the whole time I was thinking "I can't wait for marvel rivals" then I played overwatch classic with some friends it was very nostalgic then we all deleted it and started playing rivals haven't touched overwatch since and frankly I DONT want to.

Magically Blizzard doesn't have the money to produce the PvE sequel they promised(which they still should deliver on if they want OW to even exist as an IP in the next 2 months). But if we can't do PvE the least Blizzard could do is copy the "gallery" concept from MR and produce constant stories, lore, and comics(probably some videos or every previously published trailer/cinematic). If they did this much they could at least progress the story forward in small ways and have it all viewable from within the game itself which is very critical here. I doubt they'll do anything though. Buy the $50 celestial skin pack now and continue to kill the game! That's what they really want. Also if 99.99% of the player base doesn't care about balance then why did you along with every creator and every shill in the OW community sit here and gaslight those 99.99% of people into thinking that OW even needed RQ at all. Why did so many OW creators who have now since left, sit here and tell me to buy skins and that 5v5 is "good for the game"? The hypocrisy is next level honestly. It's a shame not one creator for OW had a spine to tell Blizzard that what they were doing is actually so bad for their game even if 99.99% of the player base 'doesn't care'. RQ and 5v5 along with several hero additions to OW only negatively affected that 99.99% of players even if they didn't even notice it.

I'm disappointed that nobody's really talking about this but it has to be said, this game really needs to be better optimized, there's absolutely no justification for it to be so taxing for low end machines to run. Let's not kid ourselves, I have an RTX 2060 and a Ryzen 5 2600 and I struggle to reach more than 110 or so fps (and that's with FSR upscaling lol), meanwhile in Overwatch I can easily pull over 200-220 (with no FSR upscaling), Overwatch is much prettier graphically speaking, this should not be acceptable for a game that honestly looks like a mobile game.

Now the crashes every single day are gone, I haven't crashed in so long. You need to remeber they are working on it, overwatch had so many years to optimize the game, along with them being a game from 2016. We simply cannot expect a game from 2024 to run well on so many different drivers and hardware I've seen people who complained about it not running on their pc while having an extremely old pc, or not updating their drivers or software at all for years. Optimization isn't a 1 solution to all many times, and they are working on it, we can see it on every patch I feel your pain completely, and I wish you good luck, see you in game hopefully

But, I don't understand why is it related, I might be mistaken but I don't remeber overwatch being related to this post. Also, different situations require different forms of optimization. With how complex and crazy marvel rivals is i can't fault them for having a weakness and some crashes are broken and annoying. But sadly, that's the reality of a product, there is always gonna be something wrong, and I'm definitely happy that the biggest critism of a game is optimizing. Optimizing can be fixed, bad game core can't. We shouldn't compare games at all, their problems can vary vastly and there is almost no 1 eazy solution And... overwatch came out in 2016, people have pcs from across many things, and gaming has evolved, crashes are so much harder to deal with from my experience when working with such a massive variety of systems. When Sam cried about Bastions turrent mode, syms TP ult, and how unskilled moira was at getting elims. Punisher....bastion but stronger and cheesey all the same with his turrent, Strange with his TP which is free, and over half the roster including BP all having auto lock-on abilities (remember the rants about skiil in gaming Sam ?) all unskilled by his statements prior. Lack of consistency with team comps. He ranted years ago about open queue and never plays it...yet its better on rivals 😂 healing outputs are insanely high as well here. Naah this season patch did really sabotaged the game imo. What a momentum killer. I already lost my will to play the game. It managed to become more mind numbing than Overwatch. The balance is truly absurd. Every game both teams hate their lives while playing sitback and hold lmb simulator with 3 sup comps or double shield spam comps. Heroes like iron fist was hard to make it work now it's impossible, it's fool's errand. I like the game but i'm turned off. If i'm turned off that means casual players will soon catch up and realize. The lack of content coming out is the biggest thing driving me away from OW. It feels like one new map every like 6 months or something? Not to mention all the new maps that have come out since OW2 feel really samey to play. Really long sight lines that are annoying to push on attack and really easy to sit back and farm on defense. The only interesting character that they've added since OW2 is Lifeweaver tbh cause he actually changes how the game feels. Maybe Illari with her pylon but her just is just a boring hitscan 2 tap. Why is apex legends on the thumbnail? That's a battle royale game not team shooter

​​@@jyrlan2596true, I always compare Pokemon to Final Fantasy because at the literal base, and nothing else, they're turn based games. Clearly competing with each other... As far as "competition" Rivals literally only competes with OW. Nothing else in the thumbnail is even remotely close other than "heroes".
