With it game will connect web to a nearest available spot above you, often resulting in a horrible swings, without it would fly toward your cursor, allowing you both to swing precisely and quickly escape by targeting the ground

As a Spidey main, turn off auto swing please, you will have more control zipping around and even web the floor so you can have a faster getaway or a way to get in the middle of the enemy to pop your ult then die because they nerfed it from the Alpha. Also Im happy that you're having fun with the game definitely hoping that NetEase doesn't fumble this

Usually better to combo a healer into the ult to guarantee the kill and try to finish off the other people after when it becomes easier. Also you can have your E, the pull to you and you to them on separate keybinds, and it actually makes sure you never miss it when you go into them. (As long as you can see the indicator which you can be looking like almost 90 degrees away from them and still see the indicator)

Sorry this is a little late since the beta is over, but there was a fix for it that I figured out since I was a Venom main. In the settings there was an option called "Easy swing" turned on by default. Turning it off lets you aim exactly where your web goes with your cursor allowing you to swing with far more precision. It was so much better with the setting off, literal night and day difference. So when the game comes back, you should turn that off if it's still on by default.

This video mirrors my thoughts exactly. Ive also had the displeasure of seeing Overwatch (including 1 and 2 because its literally the same game) be completely ruined by Blizzard, now being a far cry from the mindblowingly fun revolutionary formula it had in 2016, and also being a huge Marvel fan (I still prefer DC tho) this game seemed like it was kinda made for me. The moment I saw that it had 6v6 I knew this game was trying to do all the fun stuff Overwatch has been so scared of doing, and as a tank player with heavy Reinhardt brainrot I also hated how much of Blizzard's tank design leaned into just making them DPS characters but slow and boring, because when I play tank I want to protect my team and do smart plays to counter the enemy's damage output, which is what I did in Paladins when I initially tried escaping Overwatch, and is what I'm doing now with Strange and Hulk (yes I know Hulk is ass but I have fun with him). Captain America is my favorite Marvel character and Im sad he isnt in the game yet but he has been leaked and will probably be the next added character and I cant wait because his leaked description says he is from the future timeline in Rivals lore, so he'll probably have big holographic shields like Reinhardt 🥰 So yeah Im loving the game as well and very happy to have unlocked the MvC Venom skin, as Im trying to master every tank in this game and loving them all.

This is so true. It's especially bad in overwatch 2 where I constantly feel pressured to switch over to tanks that just feel like boring shooter guys. All the tanks in Marvel have that larger than life quality that I associate with characters like Reinhardt or Winston.

kind of late but next beta or whenever go into the control settings for spiderman/venom and turn off automatic swinging. The setting automatically sets the grapple point of the swing, and without it you can aim the grapple with your crosshair which makes it feel a lot better and allows you to web zip. This might be why web-swinging felt janky to you.

I think the future looks bright for Team Fortress fans (and very dark for Overwatch)... there's some hilarious rumors related to a possible Team Fortress 3, who knows, I highly doubt it... but then you have Marvel Rivals looking good and fun. I will not be surprised if in the near future, well, not really "near" because game development is very inefficient nowadays, but let's say 2027ish, most likely DC will jump in the fray, presenting their own hero shooter (the Team Fortress formula), maybe similar to Star Wars Battlefront to be "different" (imagine playing as Batman or Superman in either first or third person?). That will be awesome... and really, Overwatch competing with the Marvel monster, the return of the original hero shooter and DC? Oh boy, it will be a massacre

Your probably not gonna remember but if you want swinging to feel good as Spider-Man turn off the auto swing in settings and you manually aim where the web attaches you can do it with venom too makes it a lot easier to swing how you want once you get used to it

It’s too late now, but you could have turned off “automatic swing” on Spider-Man in the settings and had way better control of how you swing. You could even target the ground and do a web slingshot kind of swing

There is nothing wrong with role queue and role queue is infinitely better than any "soft" solutions they have in marvel rivals. Their solution didn't stop people from making 6 dps comps with everyone too stubborn to switch to tank or healer which is exactly why role queue is needed. It's incredibly frustrating trying to convince team mates to switch to a more needed role or to be the player that wants to play your favorite character but makes the sacrifice to do what the team needs. All of this can be alleviated with role queue. That way you know what you are signing up for and so does everyone else on your team and everyone has to stick to their job.

If you can measure interest in a game with twitch viewership, OW was on the rise for 3 years until role queue was added and interest fell to below half of was the average was before, never returning to its former popularity. OW players today love to claim that it was necessary to avoid bad comps, but ultimately it takes away player freedom. Also it wasn’t made because too many people were picking Hanzo over Mercy in bronze games, it was made at pro-players’ behest because GOATS was too dominant in pro play and blizzard couldn’t fix that meta without fundamental hero redesigns, which is really an issue with blizzard’s kit designs than it is with the player base.
