actually we have more than 3 maps, i think by 8 they meant both escort and capture the mission area maps (which hence include places like bifrost garden odin's library forgot most of their names but yeah ig there's close to 5 so 3 more imo) but also your theory could be right. who wouldn't like more maps haha. but the game really seems like a story mode game.
