Marvel’s Adversary killed the X Men

The Adversary first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men Issue 188 by Chris Claremont.
▸ The Adversary is a malevolent being, rooted in Native American mythology, embodies pure chaos and seeks to destroy and recreate the universe according to his whims. Possessing vast magical powers, the Adversary can manipulate reality, energy, and matter, cast illusions, and teleport. He is capable of opening portals to other dimensions and is virtually immortal. His most notable conflict involves tricking Forge, a mutant inventor and shaman, into opening a portal that allowed him to enter Earth's dimension. The Adversary's ultimate goal is to bring about the end of the world, seeing destruction as a form of creative renewal. He battles the X-Men on several occasions, viewing them as significant obstacles to his chaotic designs. His appearance is often depicted as a shifting amalgam of various demonic forms, symbolizing his chaotic nature and ability to change shape at will.

Probably off fighting his wife’s uncle Dormammu in his realm. You should always assume they’re off fighting some other threat whenever a non-magic hero is fighting an immense magical threat and it’s not already a team-up story.

Who need a Dr Strange when u have Magik, Storm, Forge, Warpath and Moonstar who will hopefully show up soon. Separate they aren't his equal but combined their magical abilities are more impressive than his. If that's enough just add mutant amplifiers, telepaths and a Phoenix and u have a recipe for vanquishing any demon. Forget the Power of 3 (Charmed). Power of X rules.

When storm went to Texas, my heart sped up. When I saw the adversary I nearly had a heart attack from joy because I knew where it was going. Fall of the mutants was around the time I first started really getting into comics, so my excitement is over 9,000!! Now I need two more things to happen to complete the cycle, freedom force in some form or other, and the spell that forge cast to end it!!

The Shadow King says he can’t take credit for being each of the forces that he masqueraded as in Resurrection of Magneto but they are all similar. They’re all different yet similar in what Shadow King was getting at.

The Adversary storyline is what brought about X-force the real X-force, the first X-force. Best ever, that and the whole original Excalibur run. Best original X titles. The Adversary was never forgotten.

X-Force came much later. The other X teams of the time were X-Factor and the New Mutants, but they were already around. Then Excalibur came after they died.

Not really, Sylar was able to "see" how the powers worked through examination of the brain. Forge is able to conceive anything and make it real. Millions of miles ahead of Sylar

Growing up watching X-Men, never knew how deep Marvel went into demonology and Heaven and Hell, God/Satan, good/evil parallels. Excuse the geek moment here but I think another way of putting is that the ShadowKing is like DnD dragon god Tiamat. Each of the heads has it's own personality and desires but all stem from the body. Shadow king could be just another head or the body itself, while Adversary is clearly a head.

Marvel doesn't own ROM. The character was leased out to Marvel to build story so ROM toys could be sold. Marvel doesn't have the rights to use or mention the character anymore. They can use any other original Space Knight they invented, but they didn't invent ROM and so don't own him. The most they can do is make vague references alluding to him. It's the same for the Micronauts.
