From the childhood of Victor Frankenstein to the conflict on the ice, this story actually hangs surprisingly closely to Mary Shelley's novel. I suppose that was one way to avoid legal trouble since Shelley's "Frankenstein" is very much public domain.

This was the perfect video for Halloween. I was thinking you were going to do Dracula in the Marvel Universe, but Frankenstein's monster was even bette. He has had such an eclectic existence at Marvel. I've never been sure if all of the Monster's appearances were the same monster or not , so thanks for clearing that up for me. In Mary Shelley's story the Real monster was Victor Frankenstein. After he had created the creature he suddenly realized what he had done. The creature was ignorant in so many ways and Victor Frankenstein basically abandoned a child in an adult's body. ... or bits of several adults I guess you could say.

Isn't it strange that of all characters that both of the big 2 decided to turn into big, recurring parts of their universe It was Frankenstein's monster? Like the Marvel and DC versions started at the same point and our now radically different from one another. Their costumes alone are iconic enough to make them different animals

The story of Victor Frankenstein and the creature's early history is actually remarkably close to Shelley's source novel--it's practically a straight adaptation. Shelley never says outright that the monster was sewn together from corpses, or describes in detail how it was brought to life (Victor is narrating that part of the story and doesn't want to reveal his secrets). But the major story beats are all there. The later history seems to be trying to bring him a bit closer to the Universal version without attracting legal trouble.

Frankenstein legacy in books and movies is uniquely amazing, the story from this video shows some many layers to this monster or is it a monster? The tortured soul of this patchwork man has been through lots of titanic stories in the pages of marvel comics. It's about time for him to get a new series of comics or even a part in the MCU. Links to the origins of Cpt America, and Dracula stories which to should have an MCU movie. This film had loads of information, but there's one or two missing stories like the Frankenstein and Doom connection and High Evolution, who is thought to be related to the Frankensteins and is Magneto also related to? With the evolution of the mutants I have a thought wouldn't be interesting if the creature had a laten gen or something like in all his part did that made him impossible to die and gave him an healing factor similar to Wolverine in fact one could say maybe his connected to Logan (James Hewitt) maybe a close family connection? Frankenstein creature is a man of many parts including the gens of many different people whose to say his not?

What would have happened if Victor Frankenstein gave his creation a bride and sent them to a place where no one would bother them? How come he didn't give his monster a name leading to everyone calling it Frankenstein?
@MattMcIrvin Жыл бұрын
Victor Frankenstein (of the novel, and apparently these comics too) was a bad and also naive person, raised in a completely sheltered environment, utterly self-absorbed and preoccupied with beauty and ugliness. The moment the creature ceases to be an experiment in artificial life and becomes a real living being, Victor rejects it just because the creature is ugly. He's too busy kicking it out of his house to give it a name. Frankenstein stops the effort to give the monster a bride because he realizes that in many ways these creatures are superior to normal humans, and he's worried they will breed true and create a new species that will destroy and supplant humanity. By that point the monster has a lot of Frankenstein's own cruel and obsessive qualities, and it at least seems from a 19th-century perspective to be a distinct possibility.
