I come back to this scene every day. Idk, when peter sees the bill on the ground and still decides to jump out and go help the world, it's so powerful. Sometimes in life, we gotta do the right thing even if it's tough and enjoy the little moments.

This game is a goddamn masterpiece. There are a handful of really annoying objectives on some bases and chalenges, but otherwise it's perfect. Yuri Lowenthal is my favorite Spider-Man of all time. Miles Morales is great, if a bit too short and light on side objectives compared to the first. I am so excited for Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine.

Agreed. He looks more his age(24) not like a 30ish year old man. More expressive as well. I'm impressed by the raytraced reflections. I honestly didn't think either next-gen console would be offering it up in so many titles. Gives me hope for games releasing down the line incorporating it for shadows and ambient occlusion. I honestly don't notice the reflections without going out of my way to observe it specifically. Not to imply it isn't a nice touch, just shadows and ambient occlusion provide a much more noticeable change.

@Mr. Blueberry lol, it feels that way sometimes. I've got no spidey powers helping me out. I've just always had issue with pete and mj's face in the original. They look off compared to the other supporting cast. MJ looks smooth as porcelain and Peter looks too old and made of clay. I am "acclimated" to them, though. I just think the new Peter looks more natural and human. I never had to adjust to the new look. I know that seems controversial given popular opinion.

The tricky thing is imagining the age Peter Parker is. In the base game I was like ‘k, he’s 25/26” but 23? This model looks way too young. The original model had more age lines which I felt resembled the past traumas and stress of being a hero. This doesn’t look like an experienced Peter Parker which is what I thought was the purpose

Ok one: Peter is not a normal human being. Stress is not going to show on his face. He's literally superhuman Two: 23 ain't that old. He can easily look the same between the ages of 18 and 23. Three: the more lighting on his face, the younger someone looks, which creates the effect of a young Peter that everyone is experiencing.

It’s just when he conquers that part of his character arc and matures more that he relaxes more and the comedic part comes. And people can 100% change their appearance to look more experienced. We see it in movies all the time. Maybe the best examples in film are Tony Stark and Thor. The PTSD Stark experienced after the battle of New York, the anticipation of another fight (“that’s the end game”), fear of losing, etc. How far did those emotions drive Tony? Far enough to discover time travel. Now Thor. Started out as cocky and never really having the wind taken out of his sails. Through his arc, he loses his father, mother, and brother. The pain and suffering took an emotional toll yielding fat Thor by Avengers End Game. Now connect this to Spider-Man. The new model and yes, more lighting on his face, gives us a younger looking Peter Parker. The new appearance takes away from the previous emotional tolls a super hero teenager who would’ve lived difficult choices, losses, and so on. It’s like it moves us back to an earlier part of his character arc. Am I making sense here?
