To be fair that's how it works in the comics, These stories aren't meant to connect. The only time What If comics actually connect is the What If...Age of Ultron comic which had a similar premise to What If Season 1.

Been reading Marvel Comics since around 1978 or so and that’s a long time. I remember the What IF books came out and their stories were so unique. What I enjoyed about them were that their stories were completely different to stories that already existed or was already done. I don’t as much enjoy the MCU Series with just slight character story change as compared to the comics where it was like a complete different reality story and happening. I hope things really get turned on it’s head for what they can do for Season 2 of the series.

It wasn't really cut, because of the pandemic, the animation studio in charge of that episode wasn't able to produce it in time for release. It would have been released if it was finished in time. I think the animation studio is the one mostly at fault since they didn't manage their resources properly.

*Here's my set of ideas for season 2:* _Enough of the downer endings! Not everything has to be super sad, 24/7._ "What If... Howard the Duck is an Avenger?" (This is a dark horse question) "What If... Ultron was never created?" (Could take a page from Issue 34 and include Tony's eating disorder) "What If... The Hulk was born from a different emotion?" (The only serious one I can think of) "What If... Thanos was a good father to Gamora?" (We all saw how Adorkable episode 2 made him) "What If... The other half got Snapped away instead?" (It's the one everyone wants to know)
