I like the 80s Ka-Zar comic ok. But my favorite Ka-Zar story is probably the Kirby stuff with him fighting Kraven.

It’s the first couple of issues of that Astonishing Tales book that was half Dr. Doom and half Ka-Zar. Weird idea for a series but I think it had one or two memorable Doom stories.

I only remember the one with Doom and Diablo. I think it was the one that introduced Valeria or his mam or something important.

Also, why does MODOK have to be exclusively one hero's bad guy? Why is that a required thing? One of my first comics as a kid was Hulk #214, and in that, Byrne has Hulk confronted by the illusions of MODOK, Leader, Rhino and Juggernaut. But MODOK is a much broader use villain than a single hero, as defacto head of AIM. It's not like asking whether Dr. Doom is a Spidey villain or FF. We know he is FF, but gets around a lot. MODOK on the other hand seems to have a more even distribution between Wing Ears, Shellhead, and Hulk. I think it makes no sense for certain, world-spanning, conquest driven villains to be uniquely the nemesis of a single hero. Mandarin is an example of one world conqueror who is obsessed with one hero. I don't think that's a positive. It means people forget Mandarin if they don't read Iron Man, and that makes his apparent threat, according to Iron Man comics, harder to take seriously in the wider verse. With Red Skull it makes a bit of sense for Cap to be his unique nemesis... especially with the death of Zemo I. Likewise with the Leader vs Hulk due to their ties through Gamma radiation. But both of those should have ticked off and been ticked off by other heroes too. Just thoughts.

Attuma was introduced in Avengers, wasn't he? Llyra was in Spider-Man and also a summer crossover. And Tiger Shark is in EVERYTHING.

This kind of story is why my collection always had holes in it: generic product from the word mill. Not a shred of imagination or inspiration in evidence.

Been done. Stegron tried it twice, once in MTU and then in Amazing Spiderman. I'd bet there's alot more. At this point it can only be done ironically and still work. Weaponize dinosaurs? Shit, weaponize your plagiarism, Marvel writers! Give it a self-aware edge, 'cause readers are aware of it.
