It's likely more than that. Considering her reaction to Capt. Marvel being mentioned last week, and especially the context of a conversation about her being an Avenger that was almost equal to Thanos wearing the Gauntlet, Monica probably blames her for not being on Earth to stop the Snap. I.e. Carol might have allowed Monica to be with her mom for those last three years if she hadn't left and stopped Thanos. Didn't just abandon her, she FAILED her.

Honestly I wouldn't leave this suit no matter how much I hated the kree. It's the only suit that won't burn completely when Carol uses her powers and enters the atmosphere 🤷🏾‍♂️. Yup. In the comics Mar-Vell was the first Captain Marvel and Carol got powers after him but she didn't take his name, she went by Ms Marvel instead. Monica went by Captain Marvel before Carol but Monica kept changing her aliases so Carol also changed which become Captain Marvel. Honestly if you ask me Carol deserves to take that name it makes sense since she's taking over the original Mar-Vells missions and purpose. But anyways Carol and Monica had a thing of changing their names a lot cause Carol went by Ms Marvel, Captain Marvel and Binary. Monica went by Captain Marvel, photon, spectrum and warbird
