Yes and no, as thanks Maxamillion and a few others they started a FreeMVC2 movement. Arcade 1up nothing but a cheap not even full size arcade cab, and if I had the money rather buy a real MVC2 arcade cab instead.

Dude, I'm a huge fan of Maximilian dood. I always knew the kind of licensing arcade 1 up got was for their toys. But that heated up things in motion. I dont get a sense of how things works, but it gives me a reason to think that gave capcom some grip on the licensing due to this arcade 1 up situation and to start prepping for this collection. I get the arcade1up sticks are bad quality and the hate for it , but still, it meant something. I'll never forget the free mvc movement. It was a combination of everything that kept the spirit alive to finally make this a reality. It took just took long after everyone lost hope. I already pre-ordered this collection 2 times (1 for switch and 1 for ps4) and wished listed it on Steam. Imagine if the only reason why it took capcom so long to make this happen was to try to make it work on xbox and have a native version for ps5. Xbox got completely abandoned out of this. That strongly led them to make this announcement on a Nintendo direct of all things to make up for it as the nintendo switch does still support the MT Framework, unlike the ps5 and xbox The only reason we can play this collection on ps5 is thanks to the ps4 backward compatibility feature. Dealing with Disney for Marvel is a nightmare, so that also must have played a great role for such an expensive toy.

I bought the cabinet. But the MvC series is like THE THING for me. So having my own dedicated machine for these games is great regardless. And I'd imagine if anyone was willing to spend over $500 on something they should feel the same way. I'll probably get it on Switch as well for the extra features, and music.

The Arcade 1up cabinets eked a loophole to sell these games as a "toy" than a licensed game while showing the higher-ups that it sold great which obviously means there's been a gigantic demand for a collection of these games. Anyone with space and cash to buy the 1up machines is blessed but they also did their parts to motivate Capcom and Disney to put out the collection so everyone wins!

Good one!👍 However, this is a PS, X-Box, and Nintendo's business strategy to bring down the sales of Arcade1Up and other arcade businesses. Simply because Arcade businesses are prospering again and people are willing to pay extra to relish the nostalgia. Classic games take the nostalgia to another level when you play them on Arcade machines. The point is, some games are good on Arcades while some games are good on consoles. It's not at all about which one is more entertaining. Choice varies from person to person.😇

I'm not making that mistake with my MVC2... I'm keeping that bitch forever. You people are very misinformed. The A1U "ports" are not arcade perfect roms. They're remakes and are missing frames of animation which actually matters in games like these because certain combos can't be done while other combos are possible that are typically not. The Capcom Collection is as close as you're going to get to the actual arcade versions of these games. That's why it's such a huge deal.
