Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite - Doctor Strange Tutorial

As we approach the release of Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite on September 19, we’re all suited up to provide you with tutorial videos for all 30 of our characters at launch. We hope these videos aid in assembling your team and choice of Infinity Stone when it’s time for the battle to begin.
Stephen Strange was a gifted but egotistical surgeon until a car accident damaged his hands. He scoured the globe for a cure, but instead found the mysterious Ancient One, who taught him to focus on others and use magic for the great good. These lessons led him to become Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme: Earth's first defense against all manner of magical threats! Perhaps his magic will help defeat Ultron Sigma.

While the graphics have had a lot of discussion, I have to say that the spell effects for his moves this time around look much more ephemeral and the way the particles disperse look much more "arcane". Minor graphical improvement, but I appreciate it.

Wow, Dr. Strange is going to be an absolute NIGHTMARE in this game for anyone who gets really good with him. I totally didn't care for him but after playing a match he's actually pretty fun to play.

Makes sense. Dr. Strange was horrible in UMvC3, with his one redeeming factor to his horrible zoning and decent combos was a godlike assist and he had a high damage combo called the Flames of the Faltine loop, which is mostly just Impact Palm -> Flames of the Faltine. Trouble is, Strange didn't have a lot of good ways to set up his FoF loops, so you needed someone else to do it

it is interesting that he and dormammu are very similar in their fighting style (magical zoners), also, his theme is a bit Metal Gear. . .ish.

While true that both Strange and Dormammu are both zoners, Strange uses more of a trap-setter style while Dormammu uses just pure ranged assault Ergo, Strange is more of a tactical fighter while Dormammu is more projectile spammer

1:20 Crimson bands of cyttorak is a reference to the X-men's longtime for turned ally. The Cyttorak is gem that to turned Cain Marko into the Unstoppable Juggernaut.

+LarryBonson Disagree. I felt it was okay, but not great as this one. This one had personality and feels epic. The UMVC3 is just hype... that's it. Not an epic piece with nice build up that perfectly fits this game. I have no idea why you like the old one more. Care to explain?

Thats the team I play, I been playing strange for a while, jesus. hulk just eats all the spells like a joke, the eye of agamato the flames with the graces all at the same time and smacks me in the face.

Lonios No, but the entities referred to in the names of them (Vishanti, Ragadorr, Hoggoth, Cytorakk, etc.) are all nods to beings in the Doctor Strange universe.

Hmm I should just google this but while I'm here i know juggernaut's power comes from Cytoark gems? IDK what they are but you're saying Dr Strange knows about them. Do they ever meet and fight it out?

Godfist314 They do meet, but they don’t fight because Doctor Strange chose to talk out their conflict instead of fighting over it. If they were to fight outside of Cyttorak’s dimension, though, I imagine Strange would win, because he draws his power from the Vishanti, who are more powerful than Cyttorak.
