dont think so dude, shit would blow up your pc. zbrush is an option or blender. just create the garment and put a texture on it to get that look. or create 100000 threads in an order and simulate it, but make sure you back up your whole drive

good advice. :) I agree, for embroidery effects and fine stitches in MD, importing a texture would be the best option.

The only problem with stitches in MD is it makes the polygon count for even simple garments utterly huge. I don't see how this is helpful.

Well, some people don't have other 3D programs in which they can create 3D stitches, so a stitching tool in Marvelous Designer is a good alternative. It depends on what programs you know to use and what you need the 3D clothes for. You don't have to use the stitching tool if you don't need it. For instance, if you just want to render them for a virtual catalog, it's easy and fast to use the MD stitching tool to create stitches as it's not a big deal to have an increased polycount when one just needs to render clothes. Another way to make stitches in Marvelous Designer without increasing the polycount, is by overlaying a 2D graphic image of stitches onto the clothes.

Hey, good job on this tutorial, it is very helpfull ! I was wondering with the answer you gave concerning the topstitches as overlayed 2D graphic images on the cloths, do you know any documentation to do this process ? Because I would actually need to have those topstitches without increasing the polycount and I really can't find out how. Thank you !
